Initially, I was upset that I had to send my oldest, a kindergartener, this year to Jefferson. My son is a very bright kid who loves to engage in "class clown" antics, and I worried that he would not be given enough individualized attention and that his teacher would not realize how bright he really is. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. His teacher, Mrs. Lester, has been great, and really understands the best way to teach a child like him. The students are great, overall they seem to be well socialized and disciplined at school and at home. Every single time I have had to come into the school, students run to open the door for me. I am greeted with a smile and a "Hello" from everyone there. Respect is a core value at Jefferson, and as a parent, it's great to know these values are reinforced at school. There is much diversity and tolerance. My son learns something new every day, and I am happy with the cirriculum. I think Jefferson is a great school, whose focus is on building intellect and reinforcing social learning.

School is K through 8th grade. This works very well with everyone in all grades. All the kids respect each other. The teachers are very involved with the children and there studies ,that even includes making sure homework notebooks are even suppled to the younger set. This teaches them to be accountable for it and there are some fun activities in these books to do if they please with some fun animal friends. Art,Music, and Luther activities are provided. The older grades 7th and 8th do get lockers and go to different classes like a regular middle school does. They still get out at the same time though. The teachers are what makes the program and some of the parents when you can get them there. This program of 6th through 8th is new and is only years old but it's doing very well. It;s got great teachers!!
