Holy Family Academy is not only one of the best Catholic schools, it is filled with caring and loving teachers, students, staff and administrators. Holy Family teaches our children to be independent and self disciplined thinkers and learners. Many parents have lost sight of that exact goal by doing everything for their children and making excuses for them. The faculty and staff steer children toward that goal with the everyday teaching, projects, and activities. Rules are made to be followed. The fact that some people think the school is run by a dictator couldn't be further from the truth. Holy Family's principal is top notch. The children are learning new concepts under the guidance of this principal. She has made the school ultra safe and the children have no fears about coming here. As for the Halloween Parties? It is called the Health and Wellness policy; if you want to fill your child with sugar, be a parent and take them trick-or-treating. Hopefully disgruntled parents who bash what they don't really take the time to learn about. Should take a lesson from their children....they are not the ones complaining.

Holy family Acdemy has some of the best teachers in the area, some are very loving caring and kind! Top notch! However if only the children's education was in their hands and not in the hands of a micromanager of a principal! She has no clue on balancing academics and childhood! We are withdrawing from this school, because of the stress and pressure that she puts on the entire school! As a volunteer I have seen more than most parents! And some parents are too wrapped up in their own social lives that they do not have any idea of some of the things that go on! Also there are very little opportunities for the children to socialize because most acativities are not allowed like Halloween Parties etc! The only treat on these "Special Days" is a bag of pretzels and a small bottle of water! Prisoners receive better than the kids do! What a shame! This would be a great school if not for Madame Dictator!!

Holy Family Academy is a wonderful school that truely is a 'family'. Teachers and faculty are dedicated to the students and the balance of education, religion, and socializationis seconded to none.

The school itself is very nice. I myself wish that there was more in the religious education as it is a Catholic school. Tuition is a factor that should be considered as it is very expensive for us at this time.

I love Holy Family Academy. There is no where else that I would want to send my son. The teachers really care about the students and the education is top notch.

I thank God for this school. My children are getting a great education. The teachers care for all of the students and want them to do well. I hope it never changes.

Wondeful teachers and dedicated staff. Nothing but great things to say. My child is not just a 'number' here. All the other teachers in the other grades even know him. It's the same with all the students. Love it! Great moral start for children.

I have two children attending St. Joesph's and could not be happier. The school is comprised of hard working families that understand the importance of a Christian education. St. Joseph's faculty is the best. The principal is committed to the children and their education. There are extra-curricular activities and a CYO basketball program. The school tuition is quite affordable as compared to the other Hazleton Catholic schools. The parish is 100% behind the school and the parishioners are proud of their school and children. I could not be happier with St. Joseph's school and plan to send my boys to Bishop Hafey when they graduate from St. Joseph's. In the Hazleton area, with it's bloated public school system, it's good to know alternatives such as St. Joseph's and Bishop Hafey exist.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
