I myself graduated from this school,I hated it then.In 2005 we moved into this school and my 5th grader started here.He went 2 years backwards. They teach to test here and just barely.Their concerns are with sports and that the students 'look' cleancut.I believe school is for learning-not this one.

As a student of four years I feel compelled to express my opinion. My years spent at Wayne Highlands were some of the most exhilarating and exciting years of my life. The academics are challenging and there is an extensive list of extra-curricular. All of my teachers truly cared for my well being and for the well being of my peers. I was challenged academically and very well prepared for the high school work load. I feel the teachers went out of their way to make sure my experience at WHMS was everything school should be, challenging, fun, safe, and a growing experience. I was never scared of school shootings which have become a growing concern these days. School for me was never a prison as so many children would describe it; WHMS was a place everyone truly wanted to be.

My children have all attended Wayne Highlands Middle School and I am writing to all the unsure Christian parents worrying about the quality of this public school. I have 4 kids and each one of them has graduated WHMS with honors. I was never worried about the safety of my children. The academics there were phenomenal! And although WHMS is not a private/Christian school they do provide before school Bible study for the kids that i made sure that my children attended. They also provided the opportunities to join several youth groups in the area. They also provide many child/parent activites such as parent luncheons and my child interviewed me in one of her consumer classes about my job. I hope this review was helpful!

As a student at the Wayne Highlands Middle School for the past four years, I have to say they were the best years of my life. The academic prokgrams consist of math, science, language arts, and communications. Every student must take art, music, family and consumer science and tech-ed. There are also many sports after school to choose from. Parents are allowed to go on most field trips and are welcome to join students for lunch. The teachers at WHMS are really the best. No matter who the student they try to help eveybody. The teachers there can handel jokes, but like eveyone else , they can only take so much. When I graduate from college I hope to return to WHMS and become a teacher there. So as you can see I love this school and I'm sure your child will too.

I must say just a few words about this school. Overall I believe that it's a decent school, however it seems as though some of the faculty is just there to earn their money, have their summers off, and their benefits and are forgetting why they became teachers in the first place. Perhaps it is a town issue that if your child is not involved in sports and popular the children can be awful bullies galore! There are alot of sports available and if your parents happen to be sucessful in the town rest assured you will be on the starting team. ...don't let the allure of simple small town living fool you all the problems of the big cities are here too.
