I am writing in retort to the previous reviewer with the adhd child. GVSD, including the middle school has always been supportive, personal and sensative to my child's learning needs. I find that parents that complain about GVMS are usually parents that expect the school to babysit their children instead of teach them and prepare them for real life experiences....especially those that live on the Main Line and have never given their children independence or boundaries.

Team 7B was the greatest middle team ever configured. The teachers know the science and art of teaching their subjects, make learning fun, act as role models, communicate and demonstrate care for their children. The music program is exceptional. I wish our superintendent was not retiring. She was amazing. Our school board cares. The student and parents are kind and supportive. My child is very fortunate and I know he agrees.

We have had three children go through this school and it is an amazing place. Caring teachers, a strong principal and involved parents make it a joy for the kids. It lacks most of the drama and meanness that characterize most middle schools. The best MS in PA!

I disagree with the previous review - my daughter has ADHD & learning disabilities and I was very pleased with the help she received while she was a student at GVMS. The staff are very caring and interested in the students - to the point where her school counselor even introduced her to a group of students to sit with at lunch time when we moved in to the district and she didn't know anyone. My only complaint is that we are moving out of state this summer, so my son won't get to experience being a GVMS student.

While the average student may find their way through Great Valley Middle School with relative ease, those with ADHD or any learning differences will be hard-pressed to make progress in this large, impersonal factory-like atmosphere. A 504 agreement is no guarantee that any considerations will be made and we opted to send our child to private high school following 3 agonizing years at Great Valley Middle School.
