Bon Meade Elementary School

Bon Meade is a great school. I do agree that the class size could be smaller (18 or so), but generally 22-24 is not astronomical. I think the academic program is good but should be reviewed to present more challenges to higher achievers. I would also like administration to be a little more relaxed. Things are rather strict here- line ups do not have to be perfectly straight all the time, lunch time should be more relaxed where the kids can talk (not yell) more freely to each other without being reprimanded etc. Overall a good school.

I have two children in Bon Meade and I really love the school. Considering the fact that they have an average of 600 or more students, I'm amazed at the small family feel of the school. The teachers and staff get to know the kids really well. They have many fun activities built into the school year. The Principal successfully balances a firm but friendly demeanor. Only negatives may be the science program could be better and I wish they had more competitive academic events.

This is a great school where most of the teachers really work hard. The principal is very friendly and involved as well. I'm impressed by the teachers' effort to involve the parents (in most cases). The one problem is that there are way too many kids per class. The school board refuses to hire new teachers to replace the ones that retire, which decreases the learning in the classroom, and I'm sure adds to the teachers' loads as well.

Bon Meade is a wonderful school for children to attend. I love this school, and upset got to move and my kids wont be attending there this year. Teachers and all other staff is great. The whole school district is great.
