This school desperately needs new administration. A large number of kids enter this school doing well and getting good grades, but then prejudice and favoritism by the teachers and administration takes over and ruins these kids, The kids give up because no matter how hard they try to do well, if they don't fall into the right racial group or become one of the pets, their efforts will never be rewarded. The principal and especially the vice principal need to GO!

Saul needs new administration. Current administration is very unprofessional does not support the students, and is taking the quality of the school down. They do not want to work with parents for the betterment of the students and schools. Great school that went down hill over the past four years.

I was a student in 96 and I love this school. My son now wants to attend the school. The diversity was the best.

The PSSA and Rating of this school here mean nothing. This is a great school. Great teachers and great kids here. The stats are just part of conspiracy.

This school allows students to learn about their environment and the animals that are connected to the land with not just classroom knowledge but plenty of hands on experiences.

Saul has many opportunities for students looking to have a career in some sort of agricultural activity, like landscaping or animal sciences.

My child is currently in the 4 week orientation class. So far my son enjoy's the program. Saul is a good school especially when it come to the book theory of this school it's excellent. There is also a flip side of this coin that has not been told to many. This school is totally about the animals and the children to me is secondary. Yes, the children take care of the animals and that's a good thing.

I am a current student at Saul. Really i would recommend it to everyone, becuase it is very diverse and the teachers are very supportive and dedicated. They will take the extra time to help a student in need, becuase they are given the time to do so. The class sizes are very small( about 17 kids a class), which makes the learning experiance at Saul great.

Awesome school for anyone interested in agricultural sciences. Very involved and requires high level of academic proficiency. Teachers are supportive, class size is small and it has a very diverse range of studies - from equine, to greenhouse/floristry design to small animal lab. Also covers curriculam needed.

My child's experience at Saul was wonderful. She was given support and encouragement during her 4 years. The classroom size was that of a private school. The teachers are very involved and dedicated. I wish I had gone to school at Saul when I was a teen. There is no doubt in my mind that I will continue to support the home and school and do what I can to continue to be part of this wonderful enviornment.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
