The teacher in this school are fantastic. Both the regular ed and special ed teachers work together to provide needed adaptations and modifications. Students receive research based instruction in the areas of need from highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals. All students are given what they need to do the best that they can. Resources are plentiful if parents know what to ask for. The administration of this building is without reservation the most outstanding I have worked with. Having children in all parts of the system I love when they get to this school. The limitations in this building are placed on it by the larger system. If it were possible to get the rest of the district to look at all students the way these teachers do, 3/4 of our students issues would be resolved without the need for advocates and lawyers.
Replaced by Wilson West which is the top rated middle school in berks county according to schooldigger.com. The person who wrote about fights is way off base. There was one fight between two girls last year and one after school between two athletes. This is an awesome school. With lots of opportunities for all students.
This school was closed at the end of the 2009-10 school year and was replaced by Wilson West Middle School - a grade 6-8 facility.
Had multiple problems with fights in the school. It's also too big and unwieldy to get a lot of personal attention. There were decent teachers and programs but I wouldn't recommend this district to parents looking for a good school. Stick with Wyo or maybe Exeter.
Well run school with many academic and extracurricular opportunities. Good parent involvement, a caring community and good parent teacher relations. Parents can monitor student progress through online grades.
