WES is top notch in almost every way. Great school, and a great, energetic and engaged community. It has the feel of a small private school. It feeds into Radnor Middle School and the Radnor School district which are EXCELLENT.

this is a school that is a model for others, the only time you'll have a problem with Wayne, is if your kid has a behavior issue or is a bully! I've had 2 kids attend here and I'm a bit of a complainer and I have never had a problem, The teachers are tops! The Principal is great and very fair, she goes above and beyond and you would be lucky to have your children attend here. They have so many programs, the Art classes, after school activities, The children are able to create, and have plenty of freedom, The rules that are in place are for the good of all not just the few. I send my kids to school knowing that they are happy and safe!

I am most impressed with the dedication of the teachers and the concern of the adminstrators at Wayne Elementary. I have liked all of the teachers my children have and am amazed at how dedicated they are to helping my children grow into caring, competent understanding adults. I feel that they are preparing the children for the Middle School and High School years well without placing alot of undue stress on my children. I also like the other families in the school and feel that there are many families who have values similar to mine that are making concious choices to raise children who will make a difference in the world. The children at Wayne that I know overwhelmingly seem to still have that childhood innocence which is so precious and requires so much insulation from the external culture to preserve.

I rate Wayne Elementary School as excellent. Although no school is perfect, Wayne Elementary strives to be one of the best schools in the state. It has many talented, wonderful teachers and lots of diversified extracurricular activities. The principal leadership is strong and our parent involvement is overwhelming! I should know since I have been a very active parent for over eight years. Next, I believe the safety of our students is absolutely a top priority of the principal, as well as the school district. Finally, discipline, respect and tolerance are strongly enforced with several anti-bullying programs and an in-house guidance counselor. In my opinion, all of these qualities add up to an excellent school. Thank you.

Wayne Elementary School's major problem is the discipline system. While the school can be commended for their anti-bullying procedures, much of the schools discipline is based on a standard procedure that in many cases makes very little sense. For example, My child was once given a weeks worth of lunch detentions for calling one of his classmates stupid twice. Another child was given a warning and a trip to the guidance counselors office for fighting with a kid. While the school's 'three strikes rule' may look good in writing, it makes very little sense in practice. There are also many bizarre rules, such as not skipping steps on stairs, or not stepping on the grass at bus line up, that are heavily enforced. Added up, this dysfunctional system creates an environment where kids have very little freedom, and when they hit Middle School they are often unprepared.

I really like this school so far. I think WES does a great job teaching to the correct development of the child.

My child attended kindergarten and 1st grade here. The kindergarten program is excellent - as is the private extended kindergarten program. Both kindergarten teachers are gifted and the unique 'kinderpack' program helps bring the learning home. Up until 3/4 of the way through the 1st grade we were very impressed with the school, the teachers, the PTO, the principal and leadership. Then our child was diagnosed (by the District and at their urging) with a developmental disibility and the school was completely unable to handle it. Wayne Elementary is an excellent if not superior school for any child who is reasonably intellegent and well-behaved. If your child has quirks, learning disabilities (ADHD, Asperger's, etc) look elsewhere. WES is unable to handle these types of 'special needs.' Discuss your child's needs with the District Special Ed dept early as their other schools may be better equiped for these needs.
