I had a great experience at TCS. It has shaped who I am today in a positive way. The teachers cared, there were very few issues and the faculty modeled Christian values daily. The only drawback is I did not feel prepared for college. I can assume some responsibility for not taking full advantage of the resources TCS offered, however I do not feel there academics can compete with other private schools in the area.
I went to Trinity Christian School for one and a half years I was there for fourth grade and fifth grade. They were some of the favorite teachers ever. I found out that I was moving half way through fifth grade and was so sad to have to leave Trinity as we would be moving to columbia south carolina. The teachers were amazing! I miss them so much. It was my favorite school I hope to move back to pittsburgh one day and hopfully attend there again. I have no bad things to say (I mean who would!). I remember every Christmas and spring I would go up and sing with the chior it was so much fin! I hope that everything is going good there and I bet they are I miss everyone there! Bye
Our family has been at Trinity for 17 years. We are extremely happy with the social and academic environment in the school. The administration and teachers strive to challenge the kids and teach biblical principles. Our kids are great writers and solid thinkers who have developed strong work ethics and discipline. No school is perfect but Trinity has been a blessing to us and has been great for our kids.
After two years, our family is very happy with Trinity. "High-priced public school"?!? Trinity has the best of a public school setting (racially- and socio-economically-diverse student body - actually more diverse than my local public school) without the worst (out-of-control discipline issues and no values). The tuition is very affordable (although I wish they weren't discontinuing the sibling discounts). My kids have had a few less-than-ideal teachers, but largely they've had excellent instruction. I feel the Board and headmaster are continuing to take the school in a great direction. This school is a gem!
I'm stunned by the previous review. It must have been made by a disgruntled student masquerading as a parent. If a student isn't challenged in math (or any other subject) that's their fault. "Teachers... are lazy" - that's just insulting. Heaping all teachers into the same category like this is fundamentally incorrect, and frankly, lazy on the part of the reviewer. Trinity's tuition is comparably very low. Do a little research for yourself. I have two children at Trinity. They have teachers that are caring and competent. The academic programs are challenging and excellent. Is Trinity perfect? Of course not. However, it is an excellent school overall. Talk to any "real" parent and you'll hear the same.
Disappointingly, Trinity is basicly a high priced public school. It does not offer a challenging private education. My child actually complained about not feeling challenged in MATH! and other subjects. Unfortunately, a christian social environment is non-existent here. Your child will hear profanity, be teased, etc., just like in a public school. The quality of staff is very poor, Teachers lack incentive and are lazy. My advice would be to save your money and look elsewhere. The education offered here isn't worth paying for. Sad to say, your child will do better academically in a public school that has a great curriculum. Don't be fooled as I was, thinking that a 'Christian-Private' school would be the winning combination. Trinity needs to raise their standards for teachers and the student body . After all isn't that what Christianity is about? Being different from the world! I wish I could be more positive.
