Send my child to St. Rocco was the worst mistake. I regret it. The principal has no leadership skills. Definitely too much money for such a poor education.
I am a parent of a kindergarten student and would not recommend this school to any one. I feel that the principal Mrs. Moschella is not qualified for this position. I found her to be incompetent and unable to resolve important issues. The whole ordeal led me to believe that she ws not concerned with my child's best interests. My 5 years old was mistretated and tramautized by this event and it was poorly handled by the principal. After I had to pull my son out of this school I enrolled him in a public school where I found out that he was below his grade level. At parent/teacher conferences with this school I was told he was doing great and there were no complaints whatsoever about his academic development. In fact, his progress report showed he was doing great. In addition, if you have any issues don't even bother calling the priest, because he will never call you back. I also felt discriminated against and feel that my family was treated unfairly.
Extremely dedicated teachers who love their mission - sharing the love of the heart of Christ to every child they teach. Incredible parents who go above and beyond to help make our school a continued success!!!!
St. Roccos School is a wonderfu experiance. My daughter loves the school! The teachers and the student are wounderful people!
Transferring my daughter to St. Rocco School was probably the best decision and investment I made in my daughter's future. Prior to attending St. Rocco, my daughter was enrolled at a Catholic School that I felt was academically inferior and almost transferred her to public school. While researching other schools, I saw an opening at St. Rocco and decided to take a tour. From the first day my daughter visited she loved the school. Today she is excelling as a student. She loves going to school everyday! The faculty is excellent and assessible. The classrooms are technologically advanced. The principal and staff are invested in the school. St Rocco is a wonderful academic institution. Kudos to Mrs. Chianese, the faculty and staff. Their devoted and dedication to the children shines through. As my daughter says, 'St. Rocco's rocks!'
I have been in this school since preeschool 3 year old. I absalutely love everyone in the school and all my friends. I also have 2 sisters in the school, many cousins, my dad does accounting for the school and my mom is a 3rd grade teacher. St. Rocco has also been our familys parish for quite some time. We all love the school and the church! I hope to go to this school up to grade 8 than go to a nice high school. St. Rocco School is a great school.
This school was an excellent choice for my academic career. It helped me prepare for high school, and life in general. CLASS OF 2007!
We all have high expectations for our children. I have two children who attend St.Rocco School the older one has attend St. Roccos from prek 3, 10yrs. of attendance. My children thanks to the wonderful teaching staff have exceeded my expectation. Robin Okolowitz non-academic affairs is truly the heart beat of St. Rocco School and Principal Mrs. Chianese has brought the school back to life. Thank you for that. The school also has a wonderful athletic program, State Championship Basketball 2006. If you are considering a school for your children look no further than St. Rocco School.
I think the new principal Mrs.Chianese is a blessing and the best the school has had in the past 17 years. She is very fair with the children and makes it her business to be involved with each of them. She gives her undivided attention to each matter at hand, as she is always available. Past principals and teachers showed favoritism, there is no place for that now. The sports are great and the chance for student involvement is great. Each parent has the unique opportunity to volunteer as their schedule allows. The non academic affairs person Robin Okolewicz is truly an asset to the school, she goes above and beyond to help in every matter.
St. Rocco's used to be a wonderful school, and hopefully it can return to what it once was. Unfortunately, for the past four years or so (not counting the 2006-2007 academic year) the school was led by a principal who greatly diminished it. She eliminated the drama program, severely reduced the amount of field trips, removed many eighth grade privileges, and basically made an awful school experience for all. I've been told this is being changed with the new principal, however. St. Rocco's had an excellent academic program in the first years I attended. I was privileged enough to be taught my Mrs. Henseler, and I agree she (and Mr. Pickar) was amazing. Mrs. Snizek was also fantastic- I can still sing the 'Preposition Song.' There are several sports programs, too, as well as student government, and a chorus. Hopefully, it returns to its previous quality.
I graduated St. Rocco school in 2006. I loved it there, and I miss it greatly. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Henseler, and she recently passed on from cancer. The school has so much to offer. In my 8th grade year we won the CAL state championship, and that was a great accomplish for me, the team, and the school. I would recommend this school for anybody.
I have had two children graduate from St. Rocco school. I have to say that my oldest child received a better education than my youngest child. Mrs. Henseler teached middle school history and in my opinion she is the finest teacher St Roccos has to offer. She incorporates in her class current events, elections, history and social skills. She has given my children great study skills and has taught them how to take notes. These skills are a valuable tool for them. My children have left St. Roccos and are now enjoying their High School years at a Catholic High school. I have to say that they were both prepared for high school and are both now in the honors program. Sr. Mary Carol was the former Principal of the school. She is greatly missed.
My daughter is the pre k program for 4 year olds, and she loves it. Mrs.Sandford and Mrs. Almonte are so wonderful. They both are very caring for the children, and my daughter feels very secure and safe with them , which makes me very happy. So far so good.
