My son transferred to this school last year (first grade). Coming from Pacific Christian I was very concerned initially. However his teacher, Miss. Smith, was wonderful and handled him beautifully. He went in advanced from the private school but then began to have trouble. She kindly but firmly made him live up to her expectations and he finished the year as student of the month. I was fortunate enough to be 'Principal for a Day' with the new principal Mrs. Peterson. I was completely amazed at what she accomplishes. She is a dynamo CEO, CFO, & Marketing Dept, and friend to all of the children. The children at Taylor aretruly well looked after and loved. Mr. Smith is no less awesome. Please remember to involve yourself so your child can get the best education and experience. Lots of help needed this year especially.

My son has attended Taylor for about 1 1/2 years now. This past year, he has been in the GATE program that the afore-mentioned parent spoke of. I think the GATE program has really challenged my son in a positive, intellectual, creative way. I also love the ASES after school program and feel that it is keeping my child active in sports and with lots of scientific and creative activities to keep him interested. All in all, I am very pleased. This is surprising to me, since my son came from an 'upstanding' school in San Luis Obispo originally, transferred to Taylor and seems to have much more support. They also provide school lunches at no-charge to the parents, which is wonderful! Great school so far and the new principal has my stamp of approval for Spring 2009.

My daughter was one of the first kindergarten students at Taylor. She is in 6th grade now. I have absolutely no complaints about Taylor. The teachers are wonderful as is all the staff. They truly care about education. There is a new principal this year so I can only hope that she does as wonderful job as the last. Mr. Caffarcia took the time out to get to know his students. There were almost 1000 students before but that is different now. He knew many of the students names which you can't say about a lot of principals. He will be missed. The jury is still out on the new principal. School just started so it is too early to judge. I can only hope that she will also be wonderful.
