Teachers and staff do well for what they are given. The school district cut back on spending, so I feel the school day is quite boring. They rarely get to have their recess outside (due to weather), don't even get PE once a week, and are forced to sit in the classroom most of the day. My daughter is in kindergarten and hardly leaves the classroom. YUCK!

The administration, teachers and support staff at this school are superb and fortunately that's what it's all about. The PTA is disorganized in comparison to other PTA's I've been associated with. The parents are not friendly and welcoming to newcomers.

Chestnut Hill is a wonderful school with a wonderful, caring, and attentive staff. We originally had enrolled our oldest child in private school but had switched him in fourth grade. The transition was smooth and the quality of his education was top notch. Now our second child, who has special needs, attends Chestnut Hill. The faculty has been working diligently with us to ensure his success. We are very pleased.

Chestnut Hill is an excellent school with an extremely caring, attentive, and professional faculty and staff. It is a very traditional school that teaches not only the basics but integrates a sense of family, school pride, and kindness into the curriculum. Great Job Chestnut Hill!

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
