The reviews didn't sound anything like the Mullen I've heard about. Theft, drug usage, and apathetic teachers. Of course it's possible to get a good education there, but you can make sure your kid gets that anywhere if you're a caring parent. Some reviews mentioned an average GPA of 3.56 or something, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. School's juice their GPA's all the time. Others cited their high AP scores. Any student can do well on those tests if they're intelligent enough and have the motivation to do well. I went to a public school and took 6 AP classes, completely unmotivated. I know people that have studied for them by themselves without even taking the class and gotten a 5. Mullen just doesn't sound much better than most schools I've encountered, and I keep hearing about these a-hole teachers that don't do anything special. Where's the money going?

My daughter graduates from Mullen this next spring (2009), and I couldn't be happier with the education she's received. Academically, the school is world-class. She will graduate with six AP classes on her record - practically her freshmen year at college done - and she aced the three AP tests she's taken already (two fives and a four). It's a very friendly, spiritual place where she's feels welcomed by everyone. She told me her freshmen year, 'It's easy to make friends here; you just sit by yourself at lunch and someone invites you over.' BTW, she doesn't play any sports, and that's no problem there whatsoever. I guarantee that her three siblings will follow her to Mullen!

I'm currently a Mullen student and I love mullen! It's a great school and I would suggest it to any eighth graders looking for an awesome highschool to put on their college app!
