Once upon a time, the Bristol school was a wonderful place to send your child. It was a place you could be proud of. Not anymore. Now there's high turnover, teachers complaining to their own students about budget cuts, teachers who aren't as intelligent as the students, and so much more. If you're thinking of enrolling your child or children here, think again! Especially if you don't live in the district and want to open enroll. Look elsewhere!
Please help Im moving to Bristol next month and I will be right down the road from this school. I have mixed feeling about this school. My youngest 5 has problem in school with behavior and learning so I need teacher and other staff to work with me on this. Im always at my kids school but you dont know what really happens in the classroom. Then I have a 2nd grader who loves school and needs to be learning all the time. I dont know the area at all and need some feedback PLEASE HELP
Have two children currently enrolled and looking elsewhere for next year. When we moved to the area 18 years ago especially for the school district, it was above average in the national averages. Now in the past five years it is either right at Wisconsin average or below. I disagree with the parents that commented that it all depends on level of involvement as we have been very involved. The staff is hit or miss, can get a really good teacher or an extremely poor teacher that just puts in their hours and does nothing more that absolutely necessary. The accelerated classes have all but gone away because the cirriculum focuses on special classes for lower than average students. If you have a student that has special education needs, the school focuses on this type of student but will not accomodate needs of advanced students therefore students lose interest and have to deal with the social problems of problematic children. Higher administration staff also seems to be dead weight and they are not effective in problem solving or thinking outside the box.
We have had a horrible experience with this school. We have 3 children who all attended Bristol and we moved here specifically for the school. Things went well until about 2 years ago. Our oldest son did graduate but, we've pulled out our 2 other children and are now paying for them to attend a private school. The bullying at Bristol was incredible and administration did NOTHING to stop it. There are some good teachers left but, many have left or are leaving. One of my sons had 7 substitute teachers in 1 1/2 months of school.
