I think it's all a matter of what kind of person you are. I'm a graduate (within the last 4 years) of Haven and I absolutely loved it. I love the fact that the teachers know everybody personally. The school does care about football alot, because they usually have a good team, but I think it's good that they support and recognize their athletes that are doing well. Of course, those students that are anti-sports will feel negatively towards this aspect of the school. I think it's a great place to go and I plan on sending my children there in the future.
I agree with IA. The environment is horrible! The school just cares about football and nothing else! It does not prepare you for college. It's a non progressive school and they have only one way of doing things, even if that way failed before.

Perhaps IA is not being objective. If the move was something you did not want you should not judge the school because of it. As an educator I have never heard much about IA schools which would lead me to believe there is something to be desired there. No raves and no negative therefore probably not awesome. PA has excellent schools and Schuylkill Haven is one of them.
