My son was there for this year for Kindergarten, and I was not PLEASED at all with his experience being that is was his introductory to grade school. He was disciplined for not tearing a bagf open correctly to talking in the gym waiting for school to start all the way up to not glueing correctly. The teacher was not professionaland very rude! The principal and the assistant principal were not professional in regards to getting back with me on important issues until i got the administratiopn involved to get "onto them" to..which i find apalling! Yet and still no resolution!! I have completely lost faith in that school and also GCCISD. my son will be in a private school as of next year. The teacher he currently has is retiring this year, and i consider that a major blessing to the upcoming Kinders and their parents. This school has no structure what so ever and very inconsistant to its own policies and procedures. and i find it very dissappointing!
My daughter attended Alamo in 2006-2007. I was very disappointed with the teacher that she had. She was very rude and unprofessional and the principal did not seem too concerned with addressing the issues.

Outstanding school. Large school. Clean, good/newer facilities, no violence/safe, good neighborhood. Good sized staff and teachers. Has speech therapy & reading recovery programs, special needs programs, after school activities. Basic classes, as well as Music and Art, available. Has a large school library. About 34 students per classroom, due to recent influx of Katrina Victims. Typically, the ratio for students to teacher is 27 to 1. This school takes education very seriously. Friendly & helpful staff. Has school bus service and car pickup. Strict anti-bullying, anti-violence, absence policies. Good mix of ethnicity; though predominently white & hispanic, then african-american, oriental and middle eastern.
