Not impressed with this school at all. My son's 1st grade teacher picks on my son. If he would misbehave in the morning she would dwell on him all day over what he had done regardless of how he was behaving at the time. When I asked to speak with the guidance counselor to set up a meeting with her and the teacher my calls were never returned. I called repetitively but was always told I would get a called back. I never did. I ended up switching my son to a different school after finding out State Street's test score were so poor they are under School Improvement status and parents are able to select a different school within the district for their child. The only good thing about this school is the PTO. They did do a lot for the kids and that part will be missed.

I am a parent of a child who attends state street elementary. I am very dissappointed with the low level of care and understanding displayed by the fairly new principle Ms. Keating. It is clear after speaking with her that the welfare of our children is the least of her concerns. The schools decisions are not based on the best interests of the students. Ms. Keating is extremly rude and uses her power as a principle to intimidate people. I am pulling my child out of State Street elementary. Our children need to be surrounded by loving, compassionate people not principals who abuse their power. A very concerned parent

My daughter just started kindergarten here. Im vewry pleased with her teacer, Ms. Federici. She takes her time to inform every parent about all goings-on, no matter how minuet they may seem. Each day, the teacher gives each student a sticker for AM and PM behaviour on a calender in the corresponding day. If there is no sticker present, Ms. Federici writes a brief note why. The communication between faculty and parents has been nothing short of phenomenal. Although I havent seen, first-hand, what other grades have to offer, I'm confident that both my husband and I will be pleased. And as for this amazing kindergarten teacher, its quite evident that she is a woman who posesses the true meaning of what it means to be an educator. Her kindness and patience will stay with our lil' ones for many years to come.

This is my daughters first year at this school and so far everything is great. I got quick responses to my letters from her teacher. I am so impressed with how the school is so clean & organized. I am also impressed on their drop off & pick up system they have. It's safe & quick....buses only in front of the school & cars (pick up & drop off their children) at the side (more towards the back) of the school, it flows very nicely. I love the way my daughters 1st grade teacher sends home a DAILY typed note home stateing what they did for the day & whats coming ahead for the following day. Her teacher rewards students (every friday) to those behaves daily...keeps them in line & repectful of others. Overall, my daughter & I are very happy. I'm glad we switched her to this school.
