This is a great school. Small classes for more teacher/student involvement. My son does really well at independence. He gets A's and B's. when he was in a bigger class he did not do well, c's , d's, and lower. This school has changed his outlook on school, he now enjoys school, and hates to miss it. The teachers are always friendly, as well as the office staff. If your child has given up on school , this is the place to change their mind. Your child can even take a bus from their home school to independence,from Auburn, blacksburg, christiansburg and some other high schools,and middle schools. The staff is always looking out for your child, and encourages them to do well. Hats off to independence secondary. You have been the best school ever my child has gone to.
