This school is older in appearance but there are a great many changes underway- especially with recent county commission funding. The teachers seem to be vested in each student. My student has been at NHS for almost two years and I can only say Go, Chargers!

This school has had a history of problems from many aspects. It is extremely overcrowded. The school still lacks programs such as JR-ROTC and like many schools in Chatham County has also suffered from a lack of county funding. The overall problem is that the school and county school board have not kept up with the explosive population growth in eastern Chatham County. This was once a mainly rural school that has quickly turned into a suburban school within the past 10 years. The addition of mobile units have only done but so much to help this school.
