This is a wonderful school. My son is going into second grade and my other son will be starting kindergarten. The teachers are dedicated and caring. There is great leadership from the principal. The improvement status from the state does not reflect the excellence of the school. I will continue to send my children there because it is a verY learning environment. Not only academic learning, but they really teach the whole child and encourage the arts, sports, and creativity.

I have two children who are in kinder and first. They are both enrolled in the dual language immersion program. The program itself is wonderful! The teachers and staff are so helpful and kind. The teachers exude there caring nature with the children. The principal is a gentle, kind, compassionate, and a fair person. The kids' all adore Mr. Bentley. The school demonstrates great comradery. Everyone is always excited to welcome anyone new to the school, especially parent volunteers! :) Central has a lot to be proud of. They had done very well on their AYP testing, and they became Central Language Academy as of this past August 2008! Keep up the great work! :)

My son is in the third grade. I am very pleased with the progress he has made this year. He has a concerned, enthusiastic teacher. I hope the teacher moves to fourth grade next year. so he can have her again.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
