This school wasn't built for the large amount of students they are getting. And thier budget doesn't match it either. I was a new student in 8th grade and I was very disapointed in the system. The school is very old fashion and behind in most areas.

If you're reading this site and contemplating moving to a town based on their school system don't even consider Rehoboth. Approximately 10 years ago the school system was actually one of the better ones in the area - though there has been a slow and steady decline ever since as a result of budget issues etc etc. Many, not all, but many of the teachers at the elementary and middle school levels simply go through the motions day after day, year after year. Though planning to originally stay in Rehoboth, after 6 years we moved - thank goodness!

i think that the school is great but a little bit disappointed that they are getting rid of the after school activites, chorus, band , and some of the fun related arts.

I believe that the entire staff at Dorothy L. Beckwith Middle school do a great job protecting and providing a safe and healthy environment for the students. The teachers each year help students to learn what they will need in their immediate future and that will guide them throught the rest of their lives. The principal also is the very best because he can always be their every day and also to the secrataries who work very hard to have everything done on time. Overall, Doroty L. Beckwith Middle School is a place where your kids will learn and be allowed to have fun and enjoy junior-high.

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
