Kula Elementary has turned out some of the brightest students from Hawaii. When my daughter left Kula Elementary she was one of 44 students accepted to Seabury Hall College Prepratory School and more than half of those 44 came from Kula. Those kids have now graduated from Hight School and are at colleges such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, etc. Great School
This school is about great teachers who motivate. The teachers make this school what it is!! The principal is new and needs guidance in working with elementary children (came from a high school background). The diversity is not as great as some would lead you to believe but is there. It is a great school in spite of the leadership. Teachers need more support and Great Schools does not accurately represent class size - they are much higher in the younger grades. The Kula school area is experiencing a higher enrollment rate than it is capable of handling. Still a great school but not at the incredible level it has been in the past. Former parent of 2 children at Kula School
Kula School is a great learning environment for a very diverse population. The staff is friendly, the pta very active and the students generally happy and learning a lot.
