It offers rigorous courses for students to challenge them in order to be more engaged in school.

Baccalaureate is extremely challenging academically. One student put in our newspaper: 'BSGE- a social life, good grades, and sleep. You can only choose two.' Some teachers are incredible and can really open our minds to think about the entire world, but many teachers have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I've been taking extra help to pass our IB exams simply because our teachers can't communicate, don't want to help, or just don't care. It's an extremely frustrating school. Also, the size makes social life at BSGE awkward, and by the 10th grade everyone hates each other. While the younger grades are enthusiastic about knowing everyone, the older grades travel in small groups of 2 or 3 and rarely talk to anyone else. Our school is also incredibly disorganized and things and events are always falling apart. I would not recommend BSGE for anything besides academics.

My child started this school this September in the 7th grade. The school is all about academics, and quite serious about their mission of molding school kids into students. The school was recently placed #38 on the US News list of the 'Top 100 Public High Schools in the US'. The IB Diploma program is the ultimate test of college readiness, students here start preparing for entrance into the program in 10th grade. Foreign language is taught to fluency, 4. 70 minute classes weekly. Choices are Spanish, Chinese and French. This is truly a prep school,it is a school where all of the students commute, but kids still make groups of friends. Leadership is totally committed to the students, teachers and the schools growth.
