I have a 2nd grader at Bowen Campus and we are very happy there. I don't understand someone from Arkansas stating Parents not welcome at Bowen. That is a completely False statement! I love my child's teachers and all the other staff. They are all great w/my child and my child is extremely happy here. The curriculum is still very challenging for us and it is a heck of alot more than what we would be learning in public school. Love ACA Bowen!
I know my child is learning. But to keep fighting and staying on top with the office due to lost paperwork on everything I turn in is maybe just not worth it very unprofessional. No routine or verification process.
This review is based mostly on the Bowen campus as my younger childis still excelling at the Arkansas camus. There have been some recent improvements after a change in the director of ed at the Bowen campus, but overall we are extremely dissappointed. I do understand the curriculum not being as advanced as was the case at Arkansa due to all of the children coming over from pblic schools, but telling kids that they are not ready for Saxon Math when thats the only type Math they had done for 7 years? Minimum grades of 50% even if you did not turn in the work, and this was a directive to the teachers from the administration? It is hard to believe what ACA has become in 1 year. Once a schoo that prided itself on parent involvment, now we are told we are not wanted, especially if we started with ACA at the old campus. I wonder how long it will be before we recieve the States top ratings again at the Bowen campus.
I agree the Arkansas Campus is Great my daughter is in 1st grade and her teacher is fantastic. The teaching of reading, math, and memorizing of poems teach my child to succeed and I am very happy with the curriculum also. The parent involvement is amazing, it has and always will be welcomed here with no restrictions.
