Our children attended Christ Lutheran preschool and then continued to the elementary. For 2 years, we chose to place our child in a local, well-regarded charter school. Near the end of the second year, we felt that we needed to re-assess our decision. We took the time to do classroom observations in both schools, we analyzed test scores and compared the curriculum. In addition to comparing Christ Lutheran to the charter school, we also compared it to another highly regarded Christian school in San Diego. During this process, we realized that what set Christ Lutheran apart was the high level of accountability with the students. The staff truly cares about each family and student. The school creates many opportunities for the students to work together across the grades. This helps to develop a sense of responsibility and social awareness. There is a unique spirit at Christ Lutheran. It is an educational institution unlike any other that we have experienced. We feel confident that we made the right choice in sending our children to Christ Lutheran.

My family is so blessed to have found Christ Lutheran! We have attended a couple of christian schools in the area and CLS is the best by far. You can see that the teachers and staff love their jobs and the students! The academics are challenging but outstanding. I know my children will flourish both spiritually and academically in all their future endeavors due to the experiences at Christ Lutheran. My children look forward to going to school everyday to be greated by loving and caring educators! I am very proud to say my children attend Christ Lutheran and love every minute of it!!

My husband and I are Blessed so much by this school and staff. When people ask where my kids go to school a smile comes over my face because I love bragging on this school and staff. All the teachers want to be there and truly care for the spiritual and academic needs of the students. Not to mention that the Principle is a Blessing also. She knows all the students names, the parents name and the siblings names. Greets them at the door every morning with a smile and a hug. Really, what other school does that?? I wouldnt want my kids to go to any other school. They are thriving academically and they enjoy going to school. What more could parents ask for!!

CLS has blessed our family in so many ways. My children LOVE to go to school, and we know they are being nurtured by their teachers and the families that attend. Every morning they are greeted at the door with smiles and hugs from their principal and teachers. We have been very pleased with the curriculum and level of academics, but most importantly our daughters' growth in faith and walk with the Lord. You and your family will be blessed at CLS.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
