I'm a current junior of SHS and would like to promote the school's success. two of my seven classes are taught with smart boards and every classroom is equipped with a projector and drop down screen making it a very technologically advanced school. The school has great drama productions and the AP classes are extremely challenging yet rewarding courses. There are a multitude of clubs and sports available to students, with almost every sport having a Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity team. With the block scheduling, it is so nice to have 2 nights to work on homework, so you can ask your teacher about it the next day if you don't understand and not have to get a bad grade for not completing your homework, because you can finish it the second night, after you talked to your teacher that day in school.

Stonington definitely prepared me for college. The teachers were mostly all wonderful. Extracurriculars were available for all students. If you wanted to get involved, you could!

With new facilities, an excellent staff, great extracurricular activities and high student achievement, Stonington High is really on a roll. They have been good in the past and with our second daughter getting ready to enter, we are very happy that the school is on a track to even better performance. The Drama department does a great job, and the basics are very well attended to.

By doing it in the funnest way possible,we have to make it exciting for them. Maybe reward them after they are done AND DID THERE BEST. Parents must be totally involved.

You shouldn't, have a study hall if they need help. When you learn you need a teacher, students can study on their own time.
