As a graduated student, I feel that this school has an unnecessary and overly developed authoritarian or disciplinarian bent, and is severely lacking in the social environment needed for children to learn self confidence, and self sufficiency. despite excellent teachers, Orinda academy is crippled by its administration.

My son has been at Orinda Academy for two years and we are very happy with the school. The classes are small, the teachers are committed and your child receives a quality education in a nurturing and supportive environment. For a small school they really offer a great variety of subjects and programs.

My son has spent the past two years at Orinda Academy and has become a responsible and involved student. The school excels at giving individual attention to all the students and the small student body allows the kids to feel connected both socially and academically. By the end of my son's first year he felt like he knew most of the teachers and actually looked forward to his next year. If you are seeking a school that actually cares about your student and their future success both socially and intellectually, Orinda Academy should be top on your list! ps: my son has been to Japan and Galapagos Island with the school

Orinda Academy has excellent, committed teachers who work hard for the students. There are plenty of music, art, sport activities. The biggest problem I have with the school is that they are very controlling of the students. they have no open campus for anyone but the seniors, and they treat the students like intelligent individuals when they behave but if they don't conform to the high standards they treat them like irresponsible toddlers. Still a great school especially if your child needs structure.
