This is our last year as well. We have decided to homeschool next year. So much has happened this year and a great deal of it seems to have been covered up or brushed under the rug. Many families pulled their children out which resulted in a big number of kids leaving. In a school that was already so small, losing that many students really had a negative impact. The "heart" of the school seemed to leave with these families. We had high hopes when this school year started, but our hopes have been crushed. We are just ready to put this year behind us and move on. As much as I would love to recommend this school, sadly I would have to say check with the other Christian schools in the area. I honestly do no see a future for this school. I think the decisions of this year may have closed their doors.

I am a current parent. This is our last year at this school. I have to say my wife and I are shocked with the happenings of this school year. For the sake of anonymity, and the protection of my child, I will not go into any details, but will say things went abruptly sour in October, there was a mass exodus of students and one teacher resigned. From what we heard, she was one of the better teachers, if not the best. I don't know the circumstances surrounding her leaving, but the combination of losing good teachers midstream, students leaving abruptly, and all the drama that seems to happen daily, is just too much for us as paying parents. Unfortunately, many parents we are involved with also feel the same way. They have already lost a good many students this year, and I know of several families who are not returning for another year. Communication and morale is very low. This is evident in the attitudes and actions of the staff and students. So, our search for a good school has begun. We know there are some great choices in the Anderson area. We have made appointments at a couple of schools and we look forward to our future educational opportunities for our child.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous person who posted. We have definitely had enough of this school. We are finishing out this year, but then we will enroll elsewhere. Unfriendly staff, teachers do not seem qualified, my kids are sick all the time (which leads me to wonder about the cleanliness of the building). My list of complaints could go on and on. In talking with my children, the school lost a large number of students in October and November, and many of their friends aren't returning for school this fall. With so many options in District 5, we are excited about finding one for our children. Our biggest concern (from talking with parents who have pulled their kids out), is how far behind they will be. We know we will have to get private tutors this summer. I wish this school the best, but unless big changes are made, I don't see them having a school.

Temple Christian Academy is an exceptional private Christian school where children receive a Biblical based education without sacrificing the 'extras' of public school. TCA now offers Band for students in 5th-8th grade, Spanish classes for all grade levels, and much more. Students participate in various clubs that enhance the learning environment, such as Leaderhip, Bible, Newspaper, Yearbook, Music, Health, and Social. As a parent of a 4th grader and 1st grader, I'm proud to send my children to TCA!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
