School highlights:
This a very small rural school with one class in each grade. Their test scores are good. Overall, I believe that the 'typical child' is getting what they need academically. I have not seen a lot of innovative teaching techniques or strategies. I did not feel informed about what was going on in the classroom or like my child's learning style was addressed. The 'out of the box' learner may have trouble at this school. Individualized instruction in a meaningful way did not seem to happen in my child's situation. I was concerned if teachers reflected about developmentally appropriate practices when planning for instruction. The teachers I have encountered did not seem at all like they went our of their way to make me feel at home or like I was welcomed in the school.
