We have been at Harmony for over a year. It has been the best experience since my daughter has been in daycare, which started when she was 6 months. Due to our horrible experience with daycare overseas, (Germany, Landstuhl), I have grown very critical of any day care institution. I have researched any and all schools in the Columbia area, prior to moving back to the US and I have found only one that I would entrust my daughter with, Harmony. This school has made an incredible difference in my daughter's and my life. My little girl has been given so much love and attention and care in addition to having learned a plethora of new and exciting things, which she happily tells me about every day I pick her up. Harmony has put my mind at ease, after being very skeptical of any new day care situation, and I am able to be at work, with my mind at work and know I do not have to worry for one second about my child's safety, happiness, well being (emotionally and cognitively). My daughter has come a long way, and so have I (being able to trust another institution), thanks to Harmony. Words cannot express how happy we are with this little school where learning and love go hand in hand.

We love Harmony! New to South Carolina (hubby is active duty Air Force), I am thankful I followed the recommendation of a professor at USC and checked out Harmony. One of the strengths of Harmony is the loving, dedicated, and highly trained staff. I confident, when dropping off my daughter, she will be safe and cared for with the highest of standards. Can't ask for more than that- a mama's peace of mind!

Harmony School is such a great learning and fun environment for all ages! I could never give my child the education and experience that he has received at Harmony any where else! He has attended this school since he was 2 1/2 years old and now that he is almost 5, he still sees each day as a GREAT experience! (We especially love the fact that he has such an overwhelming appreciation for the world and his actions toward it!)

Love this school! Our children have really enjoyed attending Harmony School. My husband and I are super happy with the Harmony teachers and staff. They have excellent teachers from PreK to Upper Elementary. Harmony is awesome and I highly recommend it!

My son has attended Harmony School for three years and has flourished tremendously. The quality of teachers in the classroom coupled with the Montessori, Inquiry and Waldorf based learning philosophy has made our experience second to none. All Harmony children receive individualized attention and the care that is given to their emotional development is outstanding. I would highly recommend this school to any parent.

I recently moved from a diverse area in NC to Columbia. After reviewing many preschools in the area, I was thankful to get a phone call from Harmony. My son loves the school and the teachers and the sense of community. It is a really wonderful school in a place that has little great places like this to choose from.

Unique blend of educational philosophies - montessori, waldorf and inquiry based learning for preschoolers thru 5th grade. Small, intimate setting with extremely caring teachers and staff. Non-profit status is a plus - low tuition is a priority.

My daughter has attended Harmony since she was 3 and will be starting 1st grade this fall. I was concerned she might need to repeat kindergarten simply because her birthday is so late in the year. However, she has thrived in every way. The teachers have a way of making the children feel so special - they don't realize they are learning. In addition to the traditional concepts, they also learn about charity, sharing, responsibility, community service and being a good friend. We should all spend a semester or two at Harmony!

Harmony is a real gem in Columbia, an otherwise very traditional city. Harmony blends Montessori, Waldorf, and inquiry-based learning philosophies to create a truly unique learning environment. We love Harmony School. The teachers have created an environment where the children feel inspired to learn.

My son has been a student at Harmony for over a year. This school is amazing! The teachers are so caring and educated in ther fields. My son is in the preschool and is reading, spelling, and doing school work that would be typical for a kindergardener or 1st grader. They have an great playgroud that is HUGE and even has trees that they can climb. The curriculum is montissori based with much focus on the environment and the earth. After years of searching for the perfect school- this is it!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
