Well, as a 6th grader at this school, I will give you the middle school perspective. I'll just be honest with you, it is TERRIBLE. Right now it is Thanksgiving break, and I'm having to write an essay that is giving me a headache. Every one thinks it's this high tech school, but once you step foot in the door it's like prison. I'm glad I made A honor roll, but some of my friends made A/B and they are not rewarded in any way, shape, or form. My parents are ready to pull me out because the principal serves injustice to most people. It's like he has certain people that he chooses he likes the most, and the rest of us are trash. Duke Tip, is a program for 6-8, well they expect you to have a certain percent on your PASS/ACT scores which is very unreasonable. The director is a very nice lady, but she has favorites, who some did not make anywhere near what she allows to be in. I had a friend last year who she told was going to be in last year, and she told that girl that she didn't want her to be my friend because they believed I wasn't good enough for, along with the prinicpal. Hopefully, I wasn't too negative, but be wise on which school you'd want your child to go to. And for those reasons I sincerely hope that I gave you enough reasons, so that you make the right decision what school, you'd like your child to go to!
2 teachers at after-school have made my days worth fighting for. There was once a time when a girl was really mean to me,turned my friends away from me, and lied on me for the things she did to me. Every day I would tell them how she was rude, and the built me up, and told me if it happens again they were going to the administration
Like before some teachers do, some teachers don't. Although, the ones that do are awesome, and they encourage me. My math teacher, she is wonderful, at times. She keeps teaching you, and teaching you until you completely understand the concept. That is why I enjoy math.
They respect only some students. Especially the ones that are in Duke Tip. It is like they run the school. When one of them is rude to anyone, nobody dares to say anything back because they might go back to Mr.Adem, and he's really strict
The only reason I disagree is because I'm a student, and actually there every day. Also, the school develops favoritism in some student. For example, the give house visits to the students they like. Another is there was a trip to Turkey to meet the principal's parents, and he picked out certain people!
