Northwood is a diverse middle school with an exceptional faculty and awesome students. The principal, Mr. Griffin, has an open door policy and is available to talk to parents on a daily basis. The faculty is very engaging and they make learning fun! We have had two children at Northwood and they have been very prepared to enter high school.

We have been thrilled with Northwood. The principal is outstanding and provides a welcoming, safe and disciplined environment. The teachers are willing to stay late/come in early to help students succeed. We are pleased with academic and extracurricular offerings. We have had a great experience at Northwood.

I was so nervous when my daughter began 6th grade at Northwood last year. Once I heard the principal address the parents at 6th grade orientation I felt much better. It was clear that he cares about his students and the community. My daughters teachers have been wonderful. They have challenged her and offered after school support when she needed it. The icing on the cake is the uniform dress code. I love seeing such clean cut and neat students. Not a single pair of low slung baggy jeans in sight! Did I mention that the Greenville County Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011 was from Northwood?

We really struggled with the decision for Middle School for our three children. We checked them all out - Public, Magnet, Charter, Private and Religious. Ultimatetly we decided on Northwood and we couldn't have been happier. We love the new school, the dress code ROCKs and so does Mr Griffin. His door has ALWAYS been open to us and he is very proactive, welcoming and experienced. The teachers have made a tremendous and positive impact on our children and they have always been willing to help and support any way they could. We are not from Greenville and had heard a few negative things about Northwood - but we had a WONDERFUL experience both with students, parents, teachers, staff and administration. Take a tour, come and visit and see for yourself - NORTHWOOD Middle ROCKS!

We couldn't be happier with Northwood Middle! Coming from another city with problem public schools and previous bully issues, this school has exceeded our expectations. The teachers have taken a true interest in our sons' education and Mr. Griffin is a top-notch principal. We love the dress code, the cleanliness of the school and the strong anti-bully policy. Our son loves the school! Parental involvement seems to be strong.

This school only focuses on the teachers not the students. The students who have disabilities with IEP's get left behind. This is not a great school nor does it try to be. The teachers are being led around by a principal with control issues. Clearly showing no intelligence towards their students. In order to lead you have to look upon yourself first fix the things that you lack and then lead.

The teachers and staff go above and beyond what is expected. Since the dress code was put into place, discipline issues have dropped significantly! I absolutely LOVE the dress code. I've had teachers email me late at night when I had a question and stay after school often to help my children. Couldn't ask for a better school!

I have two children at Northwood, and we have been very pleased with the school! Our children have had excellent teachers who care about the students. We believe that the principal does a wonderful job with discipline, and we love the dress code! Students take pride in how they look and it makes a difference in their grades and behavior. Our children continue to be challenged academically every day.

Too many students in one class. Teachers have no time to address learning issues due to disicipline problems. The school received the Red Carpet Award this year. However, we have never felt a welcome atmospher at NW. The dress code is good but the color code is for avoiding gang activity. Teachers have their favorites and leave the rest to them selves. There is no strong parent/teacher rrelationships. We would not recommend this school.

Good dicipline. I like the dress code and the teachers are great. They are starting a good sport program. Hope the score will improved to an 8 or 9 in the futur. Now is 7 wich is good but not great
