The attitude of this administration is much like that of Walhalla Middle School just across the street. Some kids are picked on, made fun of, and treated different than others. Even teachers seem to enjoy humiliating and poking fun of students. The principal is very discourteous and snobby. She has her favorite teachers and students and could care less about anyone else. She still thinks she is a coach and spends more of her time trying to run athletics than a school which shows in her schools performance in athletics and academics. Both have dropped during her time as principal. She was not that good of a coach and she is definitely not that good of a principal.

When I was a student from 1995-1999, WHS was the best school around. John Hostetler was the principal and he ran a tight ship. We never had violence problems. Walhalla High became one of the top 10 New American Schools in the nation. Excellent programs for all levels of students. Teachers didn't make fun of students and the only criticism they gave was constructive; if you were capable of better work, they told you that and held high expectations for each and every one of their students. I loved my time at Walhalla High School. I was influenced by great teachers and now, as an educator myself, I can see that WHS is definitely the cream of the crop!

The first review is harsh and off-base. The school is one of the best in the upstate and has a great record. I cannot speak for the current administration but I can't see it being too different than what it was in the 90s. The principal was one of the best around before he retired. I've never heard of teachers making fun of students and putting them down. I don't believe they would be at teacher if that were their character in the first place. I have some of the best memories of Walhalla High School. It is a small town school but sends a lot of its students to 2 and 4 year institutes after graduation.

I was seriously thinking about this school back when i attendended highschool. Boy i sure am glad that i didn't from the things that former students had told me the teachers are one problem i find they make fun of kids with disabilitys. Two the principal leadership is not at all great. There are alot of drop outs low sat scores alot of people who fail.Teachers humiliate instead of critisize a student because they are different and what they write about is different and they humiliate them example an old english teacher whom still works there and has been since 1997 or 1998. I am really glad i did not go to this school theses people aught to be ashamed. they are running what a fashion house?Only help rich kids and put down poor and dissabled kids. the principal has a major part in this also.word of advice don't go to this school don't choose this school go somewere else like seneca or Daniel.
