YCHS is a school where you would want your child to be! The new school facility is amazing -- probably the best in the state! I'd invite any former graduate to return for a tour so you can see how far we have come! I enjoy going to work every day -- the administration is supportive and student-focused. We have a great group of students, too!

Our two sons attended and graduated from YCHS after three years of quality education and extracurricular experiences. As in any school this size, not every teacher was as knowledgeable, skilled, or caring as we might have wished, but the vast majority of personnel exhibited those characteristics. The school is clean, safe, and well-run even though it is bursting at the seams. We look forward to construction of the new YCHS over the next few years and believe the new facility will enable all students in grades 9-12 to find success. Then, as now, the greatest emphasis must be on academics, although we expect to see continued success in extracurricular activities such as athletics, marching band, and chorus.

I feel that many quality educators have left this school in the last few years. The band program, ROTC and sports are administered very well but there are not enough opportunities for students in advanced math and science to shine.

I am a 1994 graduate who proudly went on to college after graduauting in three years. York provided an experience that I only wish I could feel again. The teachers then and now are exemplary and the education is one of the finest, as it was the perfect place to learn about life and the world. The academic programs were excellent, particulary for high acheiving or wishful thinking students. The school offers a variety of activities from their champion band program to their always mext years team sports programs. Parents are always encouraged to be involved, in both the activities and with eceryday school functions. I have two children in the system in York, I have substituted for the school, and I plan on continuing to do so.

I am a former student of YCHS. Class of 2000. Several of the teachers at this school made a large impact on my life and I continue to stay in touch with them. The school is very safe, very few fights. While the school isn't the most beautiful, it is undergoing renovations. If I had to choose a school in the upstate SC area, it would be YCHS.
