I have temporary custody of my granddaughter so it has been years since I was affiliated with school, especially elementary. This is a public school that is operated on a private school level. The staff ranging from the crossing guard to the principle is phenomenal and plays an intricate part in each student attending this school. It is amazing to see the staff, parents, and community coming together to support the efforts regarding the functionality of this school. The common denominator that is fostered by all is equipping each student to be the best. When the school introduced the new core standards I received a recorded message at 4 pm that day of a meeting that would be held at 5:30 that day. Within a short period of time I witnessed parents filling the cafeteria. To me, this is a clear indication the commitment level of the parents with children that make up this population of an extraordinary institution. They are not only providing an education but they are teaching the children to adapt in the world. It is truly a partnership that is engaged by the staff and the parents. Sycamore you are the BEST!

SyCamore is a hidden gem in the Town of Collierville. The facilities, the technology and maps classes (art, pe, music, spanish, and library) are great. The staff is wonderful. They are always friendly and helpful. The teachers are awesome. They are great teachers and really prepare the children for middle school. They do a great job of communicating with the parents. The guidance counselor is without a doubt above the rest. This women really cares about every child and is there to help them all regardless of age, color, or economic status. The principal is outstanding. She is truly there to help every child excel and do their best. I believe that Dr. Bulter and Ms. Kohne (counselor) know the name of every child. This is a school that cares about it students above all else. I am glad that we are in this school's district. It is the best school in Collierville.

Sycamore continually out scores all the elementary schools in the Collierville area. It is staffed by the finest teachers Shelby Co. has to offer. They are innovative, original and are always on top of their game. My daughter started there in kindergarten and just moved into 6th grade. She was well prepared to meet the challenges of middle school. Also I have a son there in the 4th grade who is always challenged academically. I am so grateful that we chose a house in the neighborhood when we moved here! I love the fact that they can walk or ride their bikes to school and home.

My 2 boys graduated from Sycamore Elementary and were more than prepared for middle school. The teachers were nurturing, encouraging and challenged kids at different levels. The principal makes it a point to know every single child at Sycamore! I have no idea how she does it, but she even remembers kids long after they graduate and come back to visit.

Both of my girls went through SyCamore. You will always find the "C" in SyCamore capitalized because Dr. Butler says "C" is of children! This staff knows every child by name. The school sits in a GREAT Neighborhood with low traffic and no crime. The school is ahead of most in regards to technology. Children leaving SyCamore are well prepared for middle school. Lots of involvement from parents! I would recommend this school and surrounding neighborhoods to anyone.

Excellent school. I have 1 alum and 2 current students. Dr. Butler is the best Principal in town. Great location in upscale neighborhood. Very Low Traffic area. Great parent and teacher support. If you are looking for a "the" public school with private school qualities, look no further...SYCAMORE IS IT!

Great school and would recommend it to anyone trying to move into this area with young children. The principal knows everyone by name and has the children's best interest at heart.

We had 3 children attend Sycamore Elementary and we found it to be an exceptional, nurturing and challenging environment for our children. The school is top notch in the area of technology--ahead of other Collierville schools--with the use of computers and educational software in the classrooms as well as Smart Boards. The community surrounding the school is extremely supportive and there is high parental presence and involvement at Sycamore. The principal, Dr. Butler, is phenomenal! Not only is she knowledgeable, but she loves those Sycamore children and they love and respect her as well. I would highly recommend Sycamore!

I had two children at Sycamore Elementary. We moved into the district once school started and could not have been happier with the teachers our children were placed with. Dr. Butler (principal) knows and greets each student by name. Within weeks she knew my name. My boys were well prepared for middle school.

Excellent school, great teachers, involved parents and students who are challenged with academics and striving to do their best in all walks of life. We moved here for this elementary school. We have stayed living in our subdivision to stay in this elementary school's district. We have 2 children, 1 who has gone through 6 years and 1 who has attended for 3 years. Great results!

This past school year was our first at Sycamore Elementary. After having my kids in private schools for several years, I was not sure how they would transition. I am so thankful to report that my 2 daughters, one in kindergarten, and the other in 2nd grade, had wonderful teachers and a great year. They are looking forward to the next school year! The school is very diverse, but it is representative of the real world. The uniform dress code is a really great thing and helps to unify the student body. We are thankful for Dr. Butler and her staff, and for the parents/grandparents who are actively involved.

Sycamore is a great school and my son has thrived there. All 3 of his teachers have been top notch and really pushed him to excel, even giving him additional work to stretch him. His 2nd grade teacher was selected Educator of the Month by the Memphis Grizzlies. The administration, faculty and staff truly care for all the students. We love it.

We LOVE Sycamore - the teachers and staff are so caring and Dr. Butler is awesome! She is so respected and for good reason. I have twin rising 4th graders and so have experienced 8 teachers here - all have been beyond amazing! Very strong PTA also. This is certainly one of the top two schools Collierville has to offer.

This school is okay, but not exceptional. We attended for 2 years. My boys were way above grade level and were never challenged. One of my boys spent his entire 1st grade year reading books on his own as the teacher had her hands full with students that were behind or ESL. Dr. Butler does not want to hear if you actually have any opinions about your child's academics. It is her school and she makes sure everyone knows. We moved due to be disappointed with the school system.
