I am a teacher and a parent of a student that attended HRE. I would like to make a comment about the review that was left April 23rd. In the middle of April HRE lost a faculty member that worked in the office. I have never heard from a parent that the administration seemed disorganized or did not return phone calls. At HRE the teacher's evaluation scores are very high. Many of the teachers are at the highest level of a 5. The teachers work together and very rarely leave to teach elsewhere. I wish the community could see the academic growth the students make during an academic year instead of TCAP scores. Every behavior incident was handled fairly and thoroughly. You can look at Hickory Ridge ' s website to find more information.

This administration is disorganized. There are some good teachers but I've tried to contact the principal 3 times unsuccessfully. Cafeteria monitors yell at kids on a mic. Very intimidating even frightening. Kids caught talking too loud are made to dump their lunch in the trash and stand against the wall. Very degrating. I wouldn't yell at my dog the way they talk to those kids.

This has been a wonderful school for my children. There are so many programs available for the children. The staff is always friendley and knowlegable in regards to all activities going on within the school. The sponser of the school supplied all the children with backpacks and school supplies. As a single parent with two children this was a wonderful gift! This was one of the best transitions that we have experinced within the Memphis City School System.
