Lausanne is a great school. My brothers and I enjoy every day of it. The teachers are nice. It is worth every penny.

Lausanne is not only the most diverse independent school in Memphis, but one that is academically challenging as well. I have 2 daughters in grade 1 and 3 marking our 6th year at Lausanne. We could not be more pleased with this incredible school that is no longer the best kept secret in town. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic, plus the administration has a clear vision for the school not content to compare it to other area schools, but rather other nationally ranked independent schools. It is cutting edge in terms of curriculum. The campus is beautiful and the atmosphere welcoming, friendly and fun. I would not be anywhere else and remain thankful they go all the way through to 12th grade. Kids go to colleges all around the country, not just limiting themselves to this geographic area. The world is truly theirs as a result of Lausanne.

An incredible school with a 97% student retention rate from 05/06 to 06/07. Teachers care and love. Nothing is watered down. Even 5kers participate in the lower school science fair. Incredible art. Writing important. Teachers teach so much and use innovative techniques to make learning fun. Not a 'sit at your desk' type of school. Big focus on each grades' classes working together as a team. Many projects, most of which are done at school. Great library. Good cafeteria, mostly homecooked food. Very international flavor. Many students are from other countries whose parents move to memphis. This is an awesome school. Something for everyone...Athletics, arts, languages, etc.

Mediocre private school; definitely not worth the 10,000+/yr. tuition. My daughter was not challenged at Lausanne at all so we pulled her out to go to (gasp) a public school. At our current school, she is behind the other students because of Lausanne's watered down curriculum, which looks good in writing, but not in application. If you have this much money to spend on school I would definitely go somewhere else.

The very best esperience for students at all levels. Lausanne provides a nuturing environment with emphasis on academic excellence based on the individual students ability. It was the perfect choice for my student and prepared him on the highest level for the SATs and college acceptance to the finest schools in the country.

Both of my children are having very positive experiences at Lausanne in the lower and middle school divisions. The diversity of race as well as economics is very important to us. The school provides a balanced experience with emphasis on academic quality, integrity and character development. A truly unique learning opportunity - especially in the Memphis area. We have attended private schools in other states and believe Lausanne measures up with the best in the country. I have no doubt my children will be prepared for the world stage. Worth all the sacrifices. Don't be afraid to invest in your children - after all what else is more important?

Lausanne has been a wonderful 12 year experience for my son. His SAT and ACT scores prove LCS was a perfect choice.

Possibly one of the finest private schools in the country. You really need to look into this one. Just terrific, our kids love it.

This is the perfect school for students and parents who want an integrative approach to education. The teacher, student, parent and community are all involved in the educational opportunities at Lausanne. They encourage individuality, integrative technology, and encourage creativity for students and teachers. We have been very pleased with the quality of teachers in the lower school. Our kids have had a great experience here.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
