Ridge View Elementary School

I agree about the administration, other than the principal. The office staff is VERY unpleasant and do not seem the least interested in assisting parents or students. The school also expects you to find your own way when new, save your breath and don't both to call the office with questions, find another parent and have a playdate instead. We have had some difficulties with different areas of the education process, and Mr. Ayers has attempted to help us resolve them to the best of his ability. Unfortunately, the school's policy on bullying is not evenly enforced and several students are routinely singled out as targets. I would encourage all parents to advocate strongly for and believe your children if they mention problems. As parents, we frequently wonder if we are getting the whole story from our rather impressionable children. In this school's case, err on the side of your children.

I rate this school as fair. Most of the teachers are very nice and appear very qualified, but the administative staff leaves a bit to be desired. Perhaps with different leadership I might rate it higher.

I have eight children in which six have gone through ridgeview elem. I'm very pleased with the small town school, I went to a very large school and like the fewer children in a class, I think it gives students and teachers a better understanding of each other.

ridgeview elem. is a wonderful school and has ,from what i can tell great parent involvement.i have seen from personal experience when a problem occurs,much attention is given to it and its resolved very quickly and handeled very well.the teachers deal with these kids as if they were there own as much as they can and they do fun things with teaching them to learn!I rate this school the best possible rating they can get!

Our family moved to Rockwood from Delray Beach, Fl.in Aug.'05, I was very impressed with the friendly yet professional mannerism we saw at Rdge View Elem.of course nothing we were used to in So. Fl. The entire staff inclunding the volunteers and the involved parents made our transition very comforting. mjy daughter adjusted well in her 4th grade class all the kids were very welcoming to her. After bieng in private school since pre-K I thought that public school would not match up to her education, but we all learned new things here, some subjects she was current and others she was behind but her teacher and the tutoring classes she took helped her to improve as well as maintain the grades she is accustomed to. Again thanks to everyone at Ridge View Elemtary for making us feel welcome and we are ready for the 5th grade. Kathy Hoch

Two of my children are enrolled at this school and as to date the faculty and staff are a pleasure to work with. Any questions are answered or are sought the answer to to achieve the highest quality of paarent and school relations. The school also provides a more at peace atmosphere than most schools because the children are treated as that and not as numbers.
