I am a former student. This is perhaps one of the safest schools in the state. the staff does a really good job of keeping the student body safe. the extracurricular activities are far more numerous now as opposed to when I graduated. As far as prepartion for college, I had no problem with the adjustment. At the time of my graduation we were able to take 5-6 college dual credit classes from real college professors. anyone struggling with the transition might should look inward instead of outward.

With recent reassignments in the positions of superintendent, HS principal, and athletic director, I am more excited than ever for my children to be students at Alba-Golden. All of these men are very fine men of high moral fiber. Most of the teachers are at A-G because they love our kids. As in most schools, unfortunately, there are also a handful who need to retire or find their true calling. Our students perform well on state testing in both Language Arts and Social Studies; scores are improving in Math and Science. Our Fine Arts program is growing and my daughter now has the opportunity to learn both Spanish and French. Kudos to Superintendent Dwayne Ellis, High School Principal Michael Mize, and Athletic Director Bill Thomas! I thank God for you because I know my children are in good hands.

I graduated from A-G a few years back near the top of my class, received a full academic scholarship to a top university, then struggled because Alba-Golden does a horrendous job of preparing kids for the real world. Block scheduling blew my mind. My recommendation - have nothing to do with this school, don't send your kids here.

I am honored to say that my children attend this school. This is a very small school district and due to this, our funding in small. We cannot afford to offer several different foriegn lauguages due to the need to be able to fill the classroom and be able to justify the cost of hiring another 2nd language teacher. Our superintendent knows all the kids by name and has gone on several field trips with our kids including taking kids and sitting in the parking lot at the Houston Stock Show for hours! This school is a class act from administration all the way through to the students! Our pricipal is very strict on the students and they must ahere to a strict dress code. I as a parent I admire this in a school district due to the values that I as a parent have set for my own children.

Many privelages are being taken away. The school no longer has a break and cannot talk during their lunch minutes. Although the school is adding on it will still be crowded from a small property area. The school only offers one foreign language, Spanish, and schedules are harder than any other school to fit.
