Excellent athletics and coaches. Still getting used to the principal so might need some more time with that one. Lost our great one to the High School:( Academics are good, kids and families are great.

My daughter attended 6th grade in Aledo and then half of 7th grade at AMS. We went from a very nice, clean, spacious newer building to an old, overcrowded, in need of repair, building in the middle school. Compared to all the other facilities for Aledo schools, this from what I have seen is the worst. I was very disappointed in the building. It appears to be possibly the original high school building from years ago which they eventually passed down the the middle school. They have added portions on for administration, but the school portion and cafeteria are all original. There are TONS of kids there - overcrowded and stressful. So much so that I pulled out my child to homeschool mid year. I wish they would put even a small portion of $ into the middle school as much as they put into the high school, like the new 9th grade giant campus they just built. I think we as residents which children attending the school should do something to expand or start a new middle school facility, better laid out to handle all these students - start a fund. The teachers and staff however are GREAT and I think everyone there really has been wonderful. I just wish the building were different.
