My daughter spent one year at Green because she was in 6 th grade. We had just moved here to Allen from out of state. Normally, this would be middle school and I was worried she would be set back a year. She actually benefitted from the small class sizes and extra attention from teachers. After school tutoring was offered at no extra cost. Being in the small environment she has gained confidence in herself. I don't like that some 6 th grade teachers were moved up from primary grades and are used to younger students and treated 12 years like 8 years old. Overall, we were please with this school.

No, I know one parent pulling her kids from the school because of bullying. The parent requested her child be moved to another class and was denied.

The principal of the school is the problem. All lip service and no follow through. Many students are leaving for lack of leadership of the school. I have not met a teacher yet that is passionate about teaching students. After talking with principal and her promising to get back with us in a couple of days with resolution to our issue, no call. We called again and another faculty member apologized for the principal "dropping the ball" on our situation. One school year has gone by for my son with promises but no follow through from anyone at the school. Another parent is taking her kids out of school for bullying. That parent requested her son to change classrooms to get away from the bullying and it was not done. We don't want to leave the school, we would like positive changes to occur.

Our schools in Allen are awesome! We researched many school districts before choosing Allen. We moved here for the school system, and we couldn't be happier. We have great investment in technology, beginning in the early school grades. The teachers are very responsive and supportive. WE LOVE ALLEN!

Teacher is worst and does not pay attention to kids, teacher is getting "old" and comes to work just for paycheck but no passion to teach. Teacher is in her own "world" and does not involve in the class, she scares the kids with "sign filder" and their greatest accomplishment is NOT getting a signed folder. I wish the teacher understands that a generation's future is in her hands and takes pride in doing the job.

This school is not equipped for average kids. My kids are very good students who rarely get in trouble but that doesn't seem to be good enough. When I work at the school I hear the teachers praise the students who have parents who work as ER doctors or local surgeons. One teacher even commented on how much harder it must be for that child to get homework done with her daddy busy saving so many lives. Kudos to that daddy but seriously? Are there no other good people out there with busy schedules we can teach our children to admire? And why does the parents occupation need to be discussed in the everyday classroom setting? There's far too much concern at this school with image, money and ego. I prefer my child in a superior academic setting.

This is my son's second year at this school. We moved from NY and he started first grade in Ms. Levy's class... she is AMAZING! We were so blessed to have her, she made the transition so easy. This year he s in Ms. Courtney's class and she is a pleasure as well. He has excelled so much. I don't really understand the reviews about unkind parents and staff. I have never had a problem with anyone here, they are always very kind and genuine. I guess if your still in a high school mindset and looking for BFFs at Parent Teacher meetings you may have an issue, but as an adult I rate this school a 5!

My son attended this school years ago and we are still dealing with issues from Green elementary that we caused by the cliques. When we first moved into the neighborhood, there was no room in the Green Classes so we had to shuttle him to Norton Elementary. They we very welcoming and team teachers we motivated and caring. Green staff and parents were snooty and only interested in their own self, rather than the students as a whole. Beware!

I've been in this school for several years and absolutely love it. The Counselor is really and truly helpful and the teachers very involved and caring. I would absolutely recommend this school.

I have never experienced a school run so poorly from the top down. The principal's primary concern is with being liked instead of running the school. In fact, a small group of parents run the school. The guidance counselor is not any better. The teaching staff is okay. There are some amazing teachers there and then there are those that text during class and only show videos (literally no teaching). In order to get the "good" teachers, you need to be part of the small group that runs the school. And, the children are not friendly as a whole. It is clicky in the way a middle/high school would be. Labels matter. Money matters. Kids just can't be kids. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

My son goes to this school and his teacher so far is okay, but the principal is not. We had to bring my son 5 minutes late in class and they kind of threatened us that if it continues they will have to send us to court for continuous tardiness. I tried to talk to the principal and the assistant principal and try to find a solution for the next couple of days that I would probably bring him late 5 min and they were reluctant to help in any way. They told me that it will affect my sons daily schedule, but sending us to court will be just fine on my son.... I guess!!! I have seen better schools than this one in this area and is unfortunate that he has to be here for this year.

Our daughter attended this school in 2008 - 2009 and absolutely loved it! We had the best first grade teacher a child could ever want: Mrs. Levy! Unfortunately we had to move to Minnesota for work, and we will deeply miss the school and community.

Green will have a new Principle for the 2009/2010 school year. This is exactly the type of changes that this school has been needing. Now if they could replace a few of the poor teaching staff.....this school has a chance.

If you get a teacher who actually teaches... you're fine... But if you get a teacher that is new...Good luck.. they are quick to send you to a teaching center, instead of teaching your child themselves. Thank goodness Green will have a new Principle...

We are the parents of a 9th grader (top of her class) and a child with a small learning disability. We have found Green to cater to both children's needs. They care about their safety and learning. The teachers, staff and principals give and give. My 5th grader has been on field trips that are great learning experiences for every day life (skills like don't spend more then you earn). If we have had a question or concern the staff has immediately contacted me (us) for resolution and it has always been in the best interest of my/our child. It is a great place!

I completely agree with the last statement, cliques are a huge problem at this school, I was new to allen and felt very left out at this school. My son also did and his grades suffered because of this. Lets just say you could tell he was not a teachers favorite! The PE teacher is the total oppisitte, she really doesn't fit in, she's wonderful!

The quality of education in this school is top notch! The teachers are hit or miss....some great and some very, very bad. It is a rules-oriented school which for some children is great but for other (out of the box type thinkers) it is confining.

Very good at assessing children's capabilities and limitations early enough to place them in the appropriate coarse of study. Variety of teaching styles so that you can find what your child needs. Parents are very involved when appropriate.

I've had three kids gp through Green and for the most part all were given a solid education. Teachers are above average and admin is polite. Parents can be overly involved at times but that's better then the opposite. I've been to the 5th grade camp twice (Sky Ranch) and kids are taken good care of and enjoy themselves.

We transferred to this school district after having been in Plano for K-2. I like the interaction and the communication between the teachers and the parents. The teachers are caring and extremely helpful in trying to make the child's learning experience a positive one.

This school is excellent! The teachers are wonderful. Many of them hold Masters degrees and degrees in specialty disciplines. This is wonderful at the elementary level. They encourage creative thinking among the children. This is equal to or better than private education in many ways.
