Alvin High School have the best teachers that alvinisd have. and i really like the teachers and stuff at alvin high school..
I am currently a senior at AHS. I have been to other Houston area schools and Alvin has some perks. The school clearly has a lot of money which provides teachers with nice new high tech equipment. The school is also very safe compared to other schools I've been to. Sadly getting good grades in the school is a popularity contest with many teachers. Many students receive a very poor education. I personally have learned very little at AHS. The school does have an excellent AP program with the exception of the English program which is a bad joke. The new principle is terrible and the ap's and administrators are not organized or competent. It seems that principles give some kids unfair perks while being absolutely hateful to others for no reason. A large part of the student body does not care even a little about getting an education. Alvin High School is all in all a terrible school that wasted years of my life.
yeah i am a freshman this year and have been here for a semester and i personally think that you parents out there arent getting both sides of the story!! you probably went here but that was a different century! this school is great. they help us when we are struggling and when we ask for their help they do what they can. and yea any school could be better than what it is but this school is amazing. and i like the young teachers! they are better than having old grouchy people... -100% YELLOWJACKET!
It is my son's last year in this High School. He has struggled with teachers that are simply too young & seem to be there only for the paycheck.Coaches in the school main concern is having good players & winning, therefore students may get away with anything.
I pulled my son out of there about 5 months ago. My son is no angel but there is a lot of bad stuff going on there. This is another school that alienates kids that are not into all the all the usual sport cheering and stuff like that. he is graduating this thursday but not from alving high. It did cost to do this but is better than him droppping out. it did get him away from some bad apples
woah im a sophmore at the school and its great. the school could be better though. some of the faculty are aware of how the job is done and smore teachers should be taught beter teaching methods but overall its a great school and im proud to be a yellowjacket
ok, I am currently a sophmore at alvin Highschool. This school is good but yes it could be better. but the main thing is that the students don't show any potential. they dont work or show any respect. At Alvin, there is The Rotc program, atheletics, and Ag I am currently in Ag and rotc, Right now I am struggling cause the teachers wont help students struggling. L
Worse school in the area. My daughter is a sophomore at AHS and we are moving soon due to lack of quality teachers and parental participation. Alvin is a nice, laid back little city but the school system is deplorable.
I am an old student at Alvin High school, and for all of you who say alvin high school is terrible, rethink. first, its alvin, that explains 50% of all negative actions. alvin is a low classed town, and in a low class town you have a low class school. Alvin High school is on top of their priorities, and try and get things done, and teach the students. in order to have a good participating school;teachers ,you have to have good participating students.most of the students at Alvin High school dont put in all the effort they should, its the students not the school, not the teachers, not the ap's but the students, alvin is an out of control town, period.
this school is terrible. i am currently a senior, and honestly i can't wait to get out. while i have no problem with the idea of school, i do have a problem with a school who's main priority is to just get by. yes, the majority of students are disrespectful and obnoxious, but honestly, when kids use colored constuction paper in 11th grade english that is a problem. this year i'm taking dual credit english, i feel so far behind in the class because it's challenging and i haven't been challenged in english since 8th grade(i went to a private school for junior high). there's a kid in the class with me who is completely confused most of the time because of the huge jump between the alvin highschool level and the college level honestly, any school who's regular classes don't come near readying kids for college is not a good school.
