Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

now have been at this school for our second year, was hoping for a shine of light this year, but still get parent letters dated a week later from teachers (check binder everyday) The staff is very rude, twice this year I have already encountered this within the first six weeks. The first time my daughter was late because our alarm didn't go off and I walked her in to get a tardy slip I got attitude for it and was told well you need to make sure she's on time everyday. First offense and duh!! isn't that the goal everyday, I had to bite my tongue, smile, and walk out. Second they lock all the doors to the school, and you have to ring the doorbell; yes I get doing it for safety but answer the door! I had a family emergency, rang the door bell multiple times with no answer, two teachers walked by and i knocked and got completely ignored!!! Finally a teacher opened the door and with massive attitude, she let me in and walked off, didn't even bother helping me. Also, I already know two families from last year that went else where and one that even went through the trouble of moving out of the school district to go somewhere else.

Duff is a great elementary school. It's got a small neighborhood feel to it. Parents are very involved and the teachers are excellent.

My daughter has been attending Duff for two years and she loves it! Kindergarten and first grade were fantastic years with super teachers and an incredible staff. We actually moved out of the area last year, but have gladly paid the transfer fee to keep her enrolled. The teachers, PTA, Duff Dad's group, and the other families have made the school so great. Please go check it out if you have any doubt. The principal and vice principal are wonderful and very welcoming. I think everything is there to help your children succeed.

If you plan to enroll your kid from outside of Texas then try another school because when I attended this school they discriminated against me when I moved from Maryland to Texas. The discrimination I received was age discrimination.

I am a parent that is not very happy at all with this school.I havent seen anything at all in 3 years that shows me that they should a high rating. It is unsafe and kids that have learning problems do not get the correct care.

I have two children - my son is a fifth grader and my daughter attended 4th-6th grades at Duff. I find a sense of real caring from faculty and staff. There is a wide variety of extra curricular activities offered in addition to a strong focus on academics. The PTA runs like a well-oiled machine with lots of parent involvement and a tradition of excellence!

School was safe and the children are sheltered. Most children are active in out of school activities. Parents are very active with their children and the school. Teachers are a little old School in their teaching approach, they could benefit from learning and using newer teaching tools, more teaching and less work sheets. Lower social economic group may have more trouble socially

The teachers seem to really connect with the students. They have a personal interest in making sure each child has the best education possible.

My son went here 1st through 6th grade. I also had two daughters at this school. You cannot ask for a better school. All the teachers are nice and really care. The school has a real 'homey' feel that is very hard to find. Everyone at this school treated me like family. I really miss it.

The school is smaller and I feel it is safe. I have had a lot of difficulty getting teachers to work with me (4 consecutive years) Am currently considering transferring my child.

Duff Elementary is an excellant School. Parents are very involved. School is smaller than some, where students won't get lost in the shuffle. My son has here for the past two years, and is currently in the 2nd grade.
