This is a great school. However, with all the positive reviews, the school is now overcrowded and losing it's sense of community. Teachers are stressed with the increased class loads and parents are quickly getting frustrated. We found other neighborhood gems at Casis, Hill, and Highland Park schools. The word is not yet out about these.

We are in love with this school! Our son's kindergarten year was incredible. His teacher was firm, yet fun, and he learned so much. Great network of supportive parents and teachers.

Doss Elementary has outstanding teachers! The administration is very good also. I have loved the diversity of children in my son's classes. There is very high parent involvement. My only complaint would be about most of the parents--snooty and cliquish.

A wonderful neighborhood school which is close knit and welcoming. There is enough diversity to keep things interesting and many wonderful committed parents. The facilities are very nice, especially the playground which is nice and shady and offers a variety of activities. All the teachers are passionate about what they do and you can tell they love to be there. It feels like a private school.

This school has it all! I have had 2 children pass through it's halls, and they are all the better for it. It begins in the hands of a truly professional and in touch principal and heads straight down the line. Doss excels both in academic opportunity and in psycho-social development. Very well organized and very well executed. Bravo!

Doss is a great school! My daughter went to Doss for 2 years and loved it. Her teacher gave each child the attention he/she needed to learn and develop the love for learning. The principal knows most of the kids by name if not all of them and always greats them with a great smile. Parents involvment is higher than I have seen in other schools. We felt that our child is growing into a responsible young adult with great values and the love of life. We miss Doss and wish we could return.
