St. Paul Lutheran School

We have had 5 kids at St. Paul over a 20 yr period. We have never regretted the decision to educate them at this fine christian school. The teachers and staff have been consistently excellent through all those years. Now our grandchildren will be attending St. Paul.

Both my kids have attended St. Paul for their elementary years. We loved the Christian / Lutheran solid foundation laid for their lives in the attention and care given by the teachers and staff. Here we felt part of close-knit school family. The recent expansion into the newer wing makes this small school that much better!

St. Paul is an exceptional school that produces bright, highly educated, well rounded students. At the annual Awards Dinner, I am always astounded at the accomplishments of so many of the students. I'm disappointed to read some of the reviews on this site, especially the entries criticizing teacher communication. Make no mistake--at a school that strives to keep costs down while providing a premier education, there is an onus placed on the parents to get and remain involved. I would hope that parents who select St. Paul would desire to be active participants in their child's education (the principal clearly communicates this expectation at the outset of the school year). My guess is that t the parent who complained about not receiving a weekly e-mail from a certain teacher, probably didn't approach the teacher and request it. Be a champion to recommend/find a better way, not a part of the problem.

We have attended St Paul's since PreK1. The first 3 years were great. In rating a school we look for several qualities, the most important being; academics, parent/teacher collaboration and communication. St Paul s dedication to academic excellence is very high. The area of parent/teacher collaboration fell well below our expectations.The teacher was very good at setting her expectations, however, did not solicit feedback. With an annual tuition at 6k plus we expect at least a minimum amount of parental/teacher collaboration. In terms of communication, we received less than a dozen emails. Homework was poorly explained. Email correspondence to the teacher at times was ignored or responded to several days later. With a class of 11 students, we expect at least weekly correspondence. Austin offers several options in terms of private and public education. If you consider St Paul s we suggest asking questions related to the qualities you are looking for in a school, interview the lower grade teachers, request referrals from current and non-current parents, and ask about attrition. While the principle is extremely nice she never solicited feedback from parents.

It gave my boys the foundation they needed to survive and excel in public high school. St. Paul is a family not just a school. everyone cares there. It is an AMAZING place.

Our child has attended St. Paul since pre-kindergarten, is entering middle school, and loves it! No child gets lost here, every single one gets the individual attention that public schools and larger private schools may not be able to provide. It is a safe, welcoming place where children perform at an extremely high academic level. As parents the most important things for our child are safety, happiness and a good education. These are St. Paul's strong points and they do it with a very affordable tuition. We are lucky to have found a valuable school where our child can truly enjoy early education.

Both of my boys attended St. Paul from PK through the 8th grade. When they moved on to high school they were very well prepared for the AP classes they took in high school. The teachers at St. Paul are excellent Christian teachers. This school is not some high brow private school. Kids of all backgrounds attended. Best money I have ever spent!

I'm Sorry that one parent had a bad experience at St Paul and decided to unload on them. The Principal was hired due to her 20+ years experience and leadership skills. She is also an outstanding Christian role model - as are each of the teachers and staff members as well. My children not only receive an outstanding education, but an outstanding Christian education as well. They receive individual attention when warranted - which is something they did not receive in public schools. Please understand - St Paul is not 'perfect' in everything - but I choose to send my children there because of the overall Christian atmosphere and learning environment - and I understand that in any educational setting where 150+ students reside, there will be hiccups that occur. I'd rather have St Paul handle these hiccups than anyone else.

St. Paul's has been a great school for my child. The small student/parent ratio is wonderful because each child gets the attention they need. The teachers and staff are always very approachable and very dedicated to the students. The school may not have the most up-to-date technology and gadgets but it has the most important aspects of an education -- a positive learning experience where the children are in a safe, Christian environment. I have been pleased with the experience we have had at St. Paul's for the past 4 years.

My children are second generation students at St. Paul. I attended St. Paul myself and when I switched to public school for high school, the entire year was a repeat of what I'd learned the previous year at St. Paul (in 8th grade). St. Paul helped me to excel for above the other students in high school that had always been in public school. My children have been at St. Paul for 5 years. The class sizes are smaller. Both of my children have learned so much this year, and I believe that it has to do with the fact that the their teachers are able to spend a lot of one on one time with him. They wouldn't have that advantage in a public school class with 20+ children. St. Paul is a loving, Christian environment that will both nurture and educate your children.

my child has been here for over 4 years and I was happy with it at first! Now its like a circus! There is no real principle, simply a teacher made into one. The teahcers who have children that go there play favortism and make it very obvious. The lunches are terrible and the kids dont know what it is half the time. The teachers play favorties among the students as well as parents. At first I was so happy with this school now its nothing but a nightmare!

St Paul is an outstanding school that concentrates on the basics of education in a caring christian environment. If you're into what's shiny and the newest fads, this isn't the school for you. If you want to ensure your child has a strong educational and christian foundation, give them a try. My kids now excel in a private high school and a private college because each of their foundations were built rock solid from St Pauls.

My 5 year old son attended St. Paul Lutheran School for PreK-3 and PreK-4. It has been a wonderful experience for both of us. Most of the kids who attend the school are members of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. We were 'outsiders' but were treated in a very welcoming and friendly manner at all times. Next fall my son will be attending Brykerwoods Elementary but we will miss all of our friends at St. Paul's.
