This is my son's third year at this wonderful school. The tuition is very affordable, the teachers and staff are dedicated to the children and the curriculum far exceeds the grade level in our comparative public school. I love the small class sizes and loving attention the children receive. Thanks to all the teachers and staff at SJCA, you are the best!!
This is my first year at this school and my son loves it he wakes up every morning wanting to go to school
I have been extremely pleased with my sons education from SJCA. This is his 5th year at the school. I am very pleased to see the great changes that have been made this year.
I really like this school! Academically they are way above the public school sector. My daughter is too young yet to be involved in x-tra curricular activities, but I know they have basketball, flag footbal, cheerleading, sign language classes. My only complaint is a lack of communication and they have been flakey on lunches and uniform. Overall they are really wonderful!
This is in response to both of the 1st grade parents. I have two children who also attended this school. My eldest child just as one below, also missed some important concepts that had to be retaught over again. Abeka was the only curriculum that the school used during the time that my eldest child attended this school. She was in a large class of 24 students. I've had the chance to speak with other parents from that class and found that most of the kids from that class also missed important concepts. Nevertheless, the school made some significant changes with the curriculum and has since received some excellent 1st grade teachers. My youngest child did very well because of the new changes in the curriculum. However, my eldest child suffered because the Abeka system was not a sufficient curriculum by itself.
This is in response to the parent of the 1st grader. I have two children in the school. The elementary does not just use the Abeka curriculum worksheets to teach concepts. The teachers also use the Shurley language curriculum. The children in first grade do learn the parts of a sentence and also learn to write paragraphs. The elementary also uses the Bob Jones reading curriculum. The first grade teacher is a fantastic teacher even though she does have 18 students. The other elementary grades have smaller numbers of students in their classes. My spouse and I have been very pleased with the progress of our children academically and spiritually that they have achieved in this school. Each year our children have achieved scores in the 90th percentiles in all areas of the Stanford Achievement tests that the school gives each April. The school offers excellent education for its students.
