We have enjoyed the Beckville Jr. High School. The principal is really on top of things. The school has great technology and facilities. The classes are small and students are pretty well behaved.

I attended Beckville for nearly five years. The school in elementary had a fine education program, but the junior/senior high school was inadequate. The students and teachers alike were incapable of treating others equally. Racism and prejudice are a major problem. I would not recommend this school. In fact, I warn anyone even considering attending to rethink their choice.

I attended Beckville from 2004-2007 and loved every minute of it. I was your normal teenager by not wanting to wake up for school but i did because it was such a fantastic place for me to be. The teachers were awesome when I was there, a few have passed since but most are still there. The staff takes an interest in the students as if they were their own children which is absolutely amazing. Class sizes are small due to being a small town therefore you get more one on one time when needed. Sports programs through the school are very good, you learn to treat each other like family and in turn work harder to win. There arent any "gangs" or "clicks" really everybody pretty much all hung out together when i was there. Overall great school !!!

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
