Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Bedford Heights Elementary- I have two children that go this school and I must say that the teachers really do show and do everything they can for our children. The only complaint I have is that some of the staff members( not teachers) Ms.Gasser in particular and a few I will not name have been very rude and demeaning as if they were above you. I was actually asked by her in particular if I have Medicaid in an speech therapy, which other staff members apologized for after I requested a formal complaint which I think was never done. Other than that, the school is great! Have some snooty members( not teachers) however the quality of the care the teachers far out ways the pettiness from some of these obviously miserable women.

I have two children in Bedford Heights currently and we have been quite pleased. It is not a perfect school. . . none are. But what I appreciate most is the attitude within the school. The principals care and are involved. . . very hands on. The teachers are approachable and seem to want to be there. We moved here from a tiny private Christian school, and while it was a big change, the community here made it as pleasant as can be.

My husband and I transferred our daughter from Shady Oaks to Bedford Heights, and let me tell you- it is like night and day! Ms. Cleveland is PHENOMENAL. I am so appreciative of the administration. The school actually promotes learning-- I know.. what a concept, right? The Principal is seen every morning outside, and he's not just a title sitting in an office somewhere. The staff is excellent. My daughter isn't scared to go to school anymore, and she loves that she is actually being taught. When I found that her old school had just put her in a corner with a book because her reading level was "too high", I felt awful for not knowing sooner. At Bedford Heights, the teachers work with the kids and keep them engaged regardless of the reading level. I LOVE IT! I am so impressed.

BHES is an excellent school with excellent teachers. My family is very excited and happy with the qualitee of the education. Our daughter Fatima and son Moustafa love it because they learn so much. My kids are always telling me "habibi...if it's worth doing its worth re-doing", it brings many tears to my eyes to know there are dedicated teachers who truly care about the kids....When I talk to my family in the Middle of the East I tell them how sad I am for them because they do not have schools like Bedford Heights. I am very happy to be a citizen of Bedford and feel blessed to call it my home. Thank you to all the teachers and workers who make the roads and schools safe for my child. May the blessings of God be upon you all. -Eid Bin Farteen & Shav Yer Busch

Of all the schools my kids have attended, BHE is the best. The teachers are motivated and they care about the kids. When I moved here from Oregon I was worried about finding a good school for my children. My cousin Bin Farteen told me about BHE and how successful his kids were. We now call Bedford home and I am proud to live here. BHE is truly an institution of academic excellence. Shaf Herbousch

My husband and I moved into this area over 10 years ago because of Bedford Heights Elementary. This year our daughter started 1st grade at BHE and now we see first hand why everyone we talked to was so impressed. The teachers and staff show a true devotion to not only teach our children but also to make them feel loved and accepted. I have a sense of inner security with this school that I thought I'd never find.

Bedford Heights has exceeded all of my expectations in a school. It has a great, caring principal, incredible teachers in all grades and including art/music/PE/speech, and a wonderful support staff. In addition to that, my children are able participate in a Spanish Immersion program that we have been so happy with. The parents are also extremely involved and the PTA does so much more for the kids and teachers than most other schools. I truly love Bedford Heights!

Our school is awesome because of the great number of involved parents. Our PTA, every year, gives the money to the school for ALL the fieldtrips for the year. We also supply snacks to the kindergartners, T-shirts and snacks at Field Days, and much, much more. BHE is a great school to attend!

It's been a third school within a 4-yr period that I've experienced as a parent. And if one considers qualities such as openess, friendlines and professionalism of administration and teachers ( I can't name anyone that would not fit in the category), variety of the after-school activities and events ( how many times .. at least 3-4 days a week I've seen principal, staff participating in shows, presentations!) , effectiveness of communication and cooperation between parents and teachers/administration ( PTA is very sctive !) creativity and innovation(Spanish-immersion program, Core Knowledge curriculum) in teaching, and a Spirit among students ( ask my both daughters - they don't see themselves anywhere else in school!) , how would I not vote Bedford Heights Elementary as the best school I've had my kids to!

My 19-year old attended BHE for 7 years and currently my 7-year old is in her third year at BHE. We feel very fortunate to be able to participate in the Spanish Immersion program. The teachers and other faculty are all so great - they really care about the kids and do such a good job of nurturing them both intellectually and emotionally. There are lots of outside of school activities that encourage bonding with other families and the high level of parental involvement in the school is nothing short of amazing.

My experience this passed semester was stupendous! My second grader did not notice the change, we came from Spanish country, her english language knowledge was moderate, but everyone help her to feel comfortable and confident. Quality school with outstanding Kindergardner program and teachers. Good to excellent music, art and sport activities. Parents are very involved with many, many hours of voluntary hours. Principal is concerned with childrens growth and is determined to make his school one of the best in HEB. Spanish programs are recognized as some of the best in the district.

BHE is part of an excellent ISD. The HEB is accredited as being Above Average, and there is a lot of parent involvement in many of this area's schools. My daughter has been at this school since first grade, when she was part of the charter class for Spanish Immersion; the first to arrive in our district. They continue this program today, with some excellent results. There was one teacher who didn't perform well in this program and was subsequently let go the following year - this set my daughter back in the language quite a bit - but overall, she's been doing great, and the leadership took our concerns seriously. We recently had to give up a long-time principal, Eva Orr, who I hear moved on to a school who really needed her help, so I'm glad she took up the challenge. Great school. Highly recommended.

Both my kids attended BHE since they were in kindergarten. The principal, teachers, curriculum was as good as the private school they are attending now. The only reason they still don't go to BHE is we moved recently.

Bedford Heights is an incredible school. You will find no school in Texas will give you or your child a better education or experience. Parent involvement is encouraged. I'm a mother who has had two children go through Bedford Heights in the last ten years and am very sadden that that experience has finally ended as both my children are now in junior high and high school. You will experience the time of your life at Bedford Heights.
