Faubion has a unique approach to elementary school teaching. Not the 'normal' seats in a row, teacher at front sort of old world thinking. The classes can change daily and are set up with learning 'stations'. The teacher goes from station to station and makes sure all are continuing to progress. Weekly grades are available online, and you always know where your child is falling behind in something or doing great. All of the teachers help each other and team teach in certain grades. There is a Quest program, and PACE Math classes. DI program is tops and the entire staff are caring and have a small town closeness with a modern approach to learning. There is a computer lab and laptops used in the classrooms as well. Theatre arts andmusic classes are very professional and teach the kids wonderfully. I cannot say enough about how well my daughter has grown as a student and person while being at Faubion. Top notch school!
Great teachers, great leadership. Staff offers individual attention and accomodates individual needs. Theater arts program is great, something we wouldn't see at a 'TAKS-focused' district like Plano. The PTA complaints from 7-year-old reviews here aren't an issue.
We are a small school with big heart. Our teachers give so much of themselves by giving extra time out side of school for special groups for the kids. They have organized Student Council, Art club, Drama, club and pep squad. My children are very happy there and so are we as parents. They are recieving a wonderful education.
Great teachers and dedicated staff. I love how much parent participation there is. I also appreciate how the school nurse apprises me of situations promptly.
I love LISD and my son has attending Naumann as well as Faubion. My daughter started Pre-K here at Faubion and I really appreciated how the office staff did all that they could to help her first of all get in, and secondly feel welcome. She enjoys her teachers, and all of the office staff is very caring and supportive of both of my children at this school. Awesome school!
My son has been with Faubion since Kindergarten, for 5 grades now and my experiences with the school have been mixed. Most of the teachers my child has had have been wonderful, however, the administration is less than responsive and the PTA at the school is a nightmare with massive control issues and egos - situations that are not helped at all by the school administration. One PTA meeting actually included a husband speaking on record regarding the fact that his wife's feelings were hurt by not being invited out with the other parents - this is elementary school on parental levels as well. The backbiting is nauseating. Extra-curricular activities are almost non-existent, and fine arts is infrequent and not daily. Counselor is relatively unsympathetic. Nurse, however, is phenomenal, as is the librarian.
What a wonderful school! My son went here for two years Kinder and 1st. They really embraced his uniqueness. The teachers are understanding and will work with you on any problem. We will definitely miss the school. Words can't describe how wonderful the entire staff is. There are all greatly appreciated.
My son is a first grader at Faubion, and I am very happy with this school! The staff is friendly and responsive, and I feel they go out of their way to meet the individual needs of the students. I love the art, music, and theatre program they offer at the elementary level, and they also have accelerated reading and math programs. The Leander school district in general seems great, and has an innovative program they've developed for creatively gifted students. I particularly love Faubion because my son has some special issues and they let me specify what kind of teacher I'd thought would be good for him, and the teacher they assigned is a perfect match. She has worked with us to come up with strategies to help my son have a positive school experience. I think the school in general has a nurturing environment and great values.
Older school, but well established. I love the music program.
Excelent teachers, very multi-cultural.
