Great school! It is a big transition from elementary school. Some people may have a little trouble adjusting to how much more independent the students are encouraged to be, which is why some parents may give low reviews. Students are not "babied" at Oakwood, and they are very well prepared for middle school. I love that it is so close to AMCMS, which is also a fantastic school. The students feel comfortable and at home when they move on to middle school. My two students had a great experience at Oakwood.
The teachers at this school are amazing! They care about the students, and they work hard with a wide variety of types of students, from GT to special needs.
